Thanksgiving Day was a good day. I spent it with my very good friends Todd & Carla, Joel & Christine, David & Jennifer and me...and all of their kids too. I provided all the wine and a scrumptious asparagus/arugula/goat cheese/potrabello mushroom relish appetizer, topped with a champagne-dijon vinaigrette dressing. It contained other goodies, like minced cranberries, bing cherries and roasted pine nuts.
After we ate, we watched some football, but quickly made our way to the music room. Joel began plucking his acoustic guitar, I slid in behind the drum kit, Todd coaxed a nice blended melody from the harmonica and David filled in the bottom with his bass guitar. The interesting fact is that the four of us have played music for years, but never all together. It was like we had been playing together for years. It felt really good, and it sounded even better. For the first time in months, I felt completely relaxed; happy.
I hope everyone's day was equally pleasant.
