I was just going to something on facebook, but a brief though has turned into something else, so a change over to LJ it is.

I was just watching an episode of Cold Case, "The team investigates a 1964 case when a young college student was killed outside a gay bar."

These ones really get to me, you know? No-one should feel it has to be that way. No-one. To feel you have to hide who you are for fear of being persecuted. The world is a more accepting place now than it was 50 years ago, less even, but there will always be people who will want to beat on someone for the way they look, the things they enjoy. Too many people just look the other way, maybe through embarrassment of the personal 'choices'* that have been made, or maybe because they secretly agree, I don't know. But this means people hide who they are, make themselves unhappy though fear & as much as I hate to repeat myself...

No-one should feel it has to be that way. No-one.

*I say 'choices' because I don't believe they are choices, for the most part the only choice that is made is the choice to be yourself.
