[In the background, there is a chaotic mess of sounds, from electricity crackling to metal crashing, but amidst it all, Tear's impassive voice manages to emerge clearly and steadily, albeit quickly.  She's used a fonic hymn to raise a magical sort of shield around her, but it's only temporary for the purpose of relaying a message ot the crew.]

Perhaps if we shut off the power, it may do something. If it is only pertaining to the electric items aboard the ship...

Though the work of magic also is not unlikely...

Ironically, I actually suggested that idea to the first mate earlier. I'm still awaiting her response.

But if it's entirely controlled by magic, then it may fail to do anything.

It is still worth an attempt, if Lady Oaks will give her consent. If we can at least find what is not the cause, then finding out the true cause would be much easier, and would lead us to the true root that much faster.

You're right. We'll have to wait for the first mate's response, then. In the meantime, let's look into our other options.

How can we determine whether it's due to magic or not? Some have also mentioned the prospect of a ghost. We must figure out a way to ascertain the verity of both possibilities. I'm still hoping that someone capable of sensing either will inform us, but if not...then we may need to consider a different method.

Is there not a way to dampen magic? Or to perhaps cast a spell to negate the effects of another?

Though in the case of a ghost...I am unsure. Some cultures used vinegar and salt to repel them (or so I have heard), though I doubt that such a thing would work in this situation.

Yes, but depending on the spell, there may be specifics. Without verifying the exact magic used, we won't be able to know which type to use. However, there's nothing wrong with trying. I don't know any magic that can dampen or negate another's, so I'll have to ask the magic-users of the crew if they can.

As for ghosts, Toph's mentioned feng shui, but if that isn't to any avail...under the presumption there's one, do you think addressing the specter will work? Maybe we could try asking it to stop or see what it wants. Assuming it's civil enough.
