Gavin treated me to a night away at a lovely hotel, fairly local to us, that we both fancied staying at, the Aerodrome Hotel in Croydon. It has an interesting history, being built originally as part of the Croydon Airport complex, back when Croydon Airport was London's main airport.
Its the type of hotel that really makes a fuss of you, and we were well looked after! We had the best suite in the hotel, and took full advantage of the huge jacuzzi bath! We ordered a lovely meal from room service, and Gavin even ordered us a bottle of Champagne, even though he doesn't really like it! I thoroughly enjoyed it though!
The best thing about the night away, however, wasn't the hotel, but the time Gavin and I got to spend together away from real life hassles - no cats, no interuptions, no housework, no pressure, just us. It was perfect.
I only had my compact camera with me, and I forgot to take a picture of the room before we messed it up! So, I made do with this snapshot as a memento of a very romantic and special night.
