I had an interview for a summer internship yesterday. When I applied for it, I applied for the marketing position. When the HR person saw my resume however, I guess she noticed that I have some experience with programs like Adobe and Flash so she decided to have me interview for a position that actually had to do more with web maintenance website than marketing. Fine with me since I've always loved this kind of stuff and it would actually be really cool if I can get an internship in this area
The interview got REALLY technical though. She asked me A LOT of questions about html / CSS / general computer knowledge. Kind of struck me by surprise since I originally applied for a marketing internship. And let's not forget, I basically taught myself everything I know about html and CSS by looking at other people's codes and copying them :X I don't actually do any of it properly.
Anyway, what got REALLY interesting was when she started to ask me the kind of websites I have made. So I told about fan sites / personal pages that I've created ever since like middle school, etc. etc. She asked me to show her those but none of it are actually up anymore. She then asked when was the last time I worked with html and I said probably be a few months ago when I was updating the layout for my blog. Then she said, oh SHOW ME.
My response = O_o $@$#$@$~#!@#
She probably sensed my hesitance because she then said that she promised to not read it. So rather reluctantly, I showed her.
Good god. I hope she didn't read it. Not only are my entries completely unprofessional, they really do make me seem like a psychotic depressive who can't stop swearing. I'M NOT!!! (well, not as extreme as my entries make it seem like anyway). Right when I went back to the dorm, I made a bunch of my entries friends-only but that's probably too late anyway.
SIGH. Probably should start writing cover letters for other internships -________-
