[ the voice comes on after a minute of Eiko toggling the button mid-yell, but she's already off and running, tiny feet pounding the corridor. ]

Oh, geez-- where are you?!

[After a few minutes, Ash's voice comes back on. He sounds distant and quiet, but just barely clear enough to make out.]

Can't really tell... all looks the same to...

...Eccarlate works, but... can't stay. They can still see me.

[He breathes deeply.]

I'll be fine, just give me a moment.

[carolling]

You'd better be!

[ Well, they did take down a ghost together, after all. It was hands-down the most terrifying experience of Eiko's brief life, and she never wanted to do that again. Still, it's almost funny how she ends up sticking to him for these events... ]

Some spells work on them, a little. The corridors're too small to call out Madeen, though. ... Try to save your strength or something, okay?

[Metal scrapes across the floor. You can hear the Heartless not far off.]

I'll find you, so just--

[Ash is cut off. The recorder gets dropped again, clattering onto the floor. It records the skittering creatures for a little longer until it times out on its own.]

[ Well, that was that. Eiko would have said more, except that Ash obviously isn't there anymore; biting her lip, she frowns and tilts her head, looking around. ]

Ash...?

[ Well, he does have those crazy phantom powers, though she never really understood how they worked. ]

[It takes him awhile, but Ash does find her. He appears in front of her with a weak flash, his body only partially visible.

The sword in his hand, however, turns completely solid and hits the ground as soon as he appears.]

[ Instinctively, Eiko half-starts back, which turns out to be a good idea since the sword misses falling on her foot. The little Summoner's a little pale, and there's a gash on her cheek that needs to be bandaged later, but there's a dangerously defiant spark in her eye that suggests she's perfectly fine. ]

Don't worry, I'm okay. How about you? [ For the moment, there aren't any Heartless in the hallway, and she steps forward-- even if Ash isn't really solid right now-- and lifts a hand to press where his cheek would be, if he had a body. From being entirely skeeved by the phantom, she's certainly more comfortable now. ]
