My New Year's resolution rejuvenated!

So here is the work out/getting back into shape program I've designed for myself for the next two months:

Four sets of 25 crunches
Three sets of 10 push ups
Four sets of 3 pull ups
4-5 days a week: Four sets of 30 lunges
Four sets of 25 leg lifts (laying on your side)
Jog one mile
Swim 500 Free, 500 Pull, 200 Kick, 500 Pull

Five small meals a day. LOTS of water. Fruit and veggie snacks as much as possible. One break day a week.

Each week a set will be added. The mile will stay the same since I'm not a fan of running, however I will try to get a shorter time each day and just add distance when I feel like it. The swimming is something I do about 6 days a week anyway so that's nothing different for me. As far as the meals, I don't want to think of this as a diet. As soon as I think of a diet, I think of deprivation, and that's not what I want this to be. All I'm saying is that I'm going to have smaller portions of what I usually have, but without so much of the 'bad foods'. I've read that more meals of smaller portions are good for your metabolism and keeping it boosted. I'd also like to get in the weight room eventually and learn how to lift weights...that's a good way to build muscle fast. But for now, that's my workout plan.

If anyone wants to do this with me that would be awesome. I'd love to have someone to work with on this for encouragement. Like I said, this isn't a diet or any kind of hardcore 'lose a hundred pounds in two days' thing, I just want to better my eating habits and slim down with some exercise/workout stuff before summer. Hopefully I'll get something out of it.

On another note, Chamber choir is going up to Pennsylvania tomorrow for the Susquehanna festival on Tuesday. Doc's been talking this school up like its the only ticket to success. Apparently there's NO other school to go to for music but this one. I'm pretty interested in applying there, but the program is insane and the director up there is like a drill sargeant according to the war stories I've heard about him. One mistake and you're out type of deals. That's pretty intimidating to me...plus its hard to get into, but they have money galore. Doc said that 60% of their students are on full rides, they give out scholarships right and left, and they have an almost non-existant budget. I wanna see the humidified choir room, the spinning stage and the new pool. We are performing for them, getting master classes and they'll perform for us in return. They're probably gonna put us to shame, but oh well. Should be interesting anyway. It's gonna be interesting, that's for sure.

Anyhow, let me know if you're interested in doing that workout program thing with me. Anything on my list of exercises can be modified. For instance, with the swimming, I know most people don't swim laps, so that could be switched to something else. Personally, I know Easter took its toll on me with the great food, and of coarse there were left-overs. 'Join now and be supermodel skinny in a week!', ' This is the SECRET way no one knows about to lose weight at the speed of light', 'Become a member and recieve a bottle of MIRACLE pills, an oversized tee-shirt (to make you feel better), join in the next 15 minutes and recieve the FREE matching MIRACLE lotion!' I don't have any great lines like this to offer anyone, but I think it'll be fun anyway....even without the matching lotion. :-)
