What are the Ups and Downs of translating?
Now that I'm on a mini break from law school, I have been reading quite a handful of Chinese novels. I realized that it would be easier to read them in English - considering i am more fluent in that language over Mandarin - but what is it like to translate novels? Or basically translating any form of media from one language to another? I've stumbled upon quite a number of blogs doing such for the novels I'm reading and thought of translating other novels out of pure curiosity and fun....
My Mandarin is not as good as my English, but I think with the help of the dictionary it seems possible???
Hmm, do you think I should give this a go or not? I also thought how this can be a sort of practice to hone my Mandarin skills (if i got some).
