It's lovely yet so sad. It's heartbreaking to know how the little kid's hopes will be sorely disappointed.

Remus is just perfect: charming, fun, clever and mischievous.
I love his mother's characterization, too. I totally agree with her doubts over introducing Remus into the wizarding society. *sigh*

Well, she may have been right about most of wizarding society, but if she had won this disagreement, Remus never would have become friends with James, Sirius, and Peter. (Plus the other members of the OotP, Harry & Co., the Weasley clan, etc.)

:) Yes, he would have had a completely different life and would have missed some good things: Sirius and James, not to mention the possibility to learn and live his being magical.

You've captured the mind of an 11-year old perfectly. This bit of family life was endearing, the way his mother was so protective, yet probably starting to realize that he'd have to live his own life.

You know, I'm not sure I've ever read a fic about this time period and instance. I really liked it. It was interesting, too, to see the life you sketched out for the Lupins. It's so... normal. I liked that a lot.

Thanks. I'm glad you liked this take on the Lupins, as this was different from how I usually write them.

P.S. Remus needs a haircut because my son needs one.
