It's like word association; you know, when you hear a word and say the first thing you think of:
dog...cat...lion...Simba
Cat links with both dog and lion, but dog has nothing directly to do with cat or anything that follows.
Anyway, I was in an autumn mood the other day, so I made several mini-loaves of pumpkin bread. My daughter immediately asked if we could have
Curried Pumpkin Soup to go with it. I didn't have anymore pumpkin, so I promised I'd make it before we devoured all the pumpkin bread. (They're yummy together.)
Last night, I made the soup, and the curry powder put me in the mood to make something else with curry. I'd just bought a head of cauliflower that was a delicious shade of orange instead of traditional white, so I googled a recipe for curried cauliflower and chickpeas. (I ended up reading a few different ones and then improvising my own version.) I wanted to make Indian Butter Chicken as well, but I was running short on time, and my chicken breasts were still frozen. Besides, I thought my family might be all curried out. So, I cheated and threw some frozen chicken strips in the oven.
pumpkin bread...curried pumpkin soup...Indian curried veggies...Indian butter chicken...chicken tenders
It all linked together in my mind.
