Oct 02, 2010 10:01

The UPS man made me VERY happy yesterday. He brought my copy of Out of the Ashes by rwday. I LOVED her book A Strong and Sudden Thaw (that's the original cover in my icon), so I've been quite looking forward to this sequel.

erastes got a sneak peak of it while being written, and here's what she has to say.

Thank you so much for posting about this! I loved A Strong and Sudden Thaw and I've often thought about the characters since then. In fact, I was thinking about them only this morning. I was beginning to lose hope that I would ever get to read the sequel.

I'm half way through and loving it. (I will tell you this much. Someone I predicted would die in this book has died. Aren't I evil?) There are only two reasons I didn't read it all in one go:
1) copperbadge just posted his latest novel, Charitable Getting, and I've started reading that too. (A surplus of riches!)
2) Daughter is sick again, so I spent today cuddled up with her. I'm saving the rest of the book in case I have to go with her to the hospital. (LJ is blocked on the hospital internet, so it's good to have a book to read.)

I've ordered it from Amazon. I can't wait!

I hope you and your daughter don't have to go to the hospital.

She was admitted, but my husband went in with her for last night as I had to work today and he didn't. I'm due to take over tonight, but she's improved enough that it probably won't be necessary.
