I'm alive
First of all:
Shannon: Sorry I haven't called or gotten in touch with you. I've been busy and without internet for a while.
Alright now for a breif overveiw of my 1 week vacation in Pennsylvania!
Saturday 7/2/05: Due to a 3 hour detour thanks to my youngest sister, I wasn't picked up in Charlotte, NC until 3pm ish. We got to my Aunt Gwen's house at 1:30am ish Sunday morning. Note, my family was coming up from FL and picking up on in NC on the way.
Sunday: Family reunion at my aunt's house. Everyone I knew / didn't remember (it'd been 10 years more or less since my last visit) was there. Found out my cousin Stephanie had a little boy (Gavin:age 4) and one on the way. Wendy had one on the way and I had lots of other little ones to play with, including Brook (age 9). Lots of fun. Then we went to go see fireworks (on the 3rd for some reason :p).
Monday: Went to a fair. Got to shoot a semi-auto BB gun. Diden't win a prize though :p. Still lots of fun. Dinner at Aunt Gwen's house.
Tuesday: Went to Stephanie's house. Went swimming at her Mother-in-Law's house until the weather got bad. Went home and had "Bob's Subs" courtesy of my cousin Shelly. Later went to see the "War of the World with my older brother Danny and her. Movie was alright. Kinda anti-climatic though.
Wednesay: Visited Grandma and Grandpa Heckmans' graves. Then went to Aunt Jean's for dinner (turkey, home made noodles of goodness, mashed potatoes, etc etc and graham cracker pie or german chocolate cake for dessert, I had the pie). Went to Buff's afterwards for ice cream. Funny thing though: Danny had left his dog (Oscar the Daschund (sp?)) in Shelly's car. Shelly had left her piece of yummy pie in the car. You can guess what Oscar had for a snack. Shelly for over-reacting a tad too much (I think mainly for show) and gave a guy who was sitting there eating his ice cream a good laugh. We then went and played Pictionary. Fun fun fun.
Thursday: Went to Cook's Forest. Went on a trail ride. Riding a horse for the first time since I was little was a bit scary, but it was still fun. My horse's name was Brutus. My dad got a wild horse who almost fell once and then tried to throw him later. The worst mine did was try to eat grass (and then, when he realized I wasn't going to let him, settled on trying to eat a tree. I stopped him with my step-mom's advice). That and he ran me into tree branches. I say he did it on purpose T_T. Afterwards, my right knee was stiff and I needed help getting down. I couldn't drive a go-kart afterwards so I decided to watch from the sides. Gavin scraped his while being a 4-year-old, but it wasn't anything serious. After that we went to my Aunt Ora's for dinner. Spagetti and meatballs with butter pecan cake for dessert. After that we went back to Aunt Gwens and kept Shelly there until after midnight playing Pictionary ^_^.
Friday: Went and played mini golf with my sisters (Hayley and Heidi), aunt Gwen, and Shelly. I lost (106 :p). Danny, Uncle Chook, and my dad went and played real golf. Danny lost (107) but not by much (My dad got 103, my uncle got 91). Had steaks, baked potatoes, salad and corn for dinner and brownies / leftover butter pecan pie w/ ice cream for dessert. Afterwards we went bowling (3 rounds). I didn't do too well and Heidi kicked all of our asses in the 2nd round (Mike (Shelly's BF is a great bowler, but only got 112 to Heidi's 113 XD). Afterwards we went and played more Pictionary and packed because my dad wanted to leave 3 hours ago >.<
Saturday 2:00am: We packed our stuff, said our last good byes, and got into the car. I drove in West Virginia for a little while while my dad slept. Mountains + fog + plus trailer + other people in the car = lots of stress for Mysia. Got an adorably cute picture of my brother and Oscar sleeping together (can't wait to get that from Yvonne). Overall, I am happy and relaxed...but I don't want to go to work tomorrow morning >.<
