On Friday or Saturday I recieved another package in the mail. Opening it, I found it was another copy of Yu Yu Hakusho.
"Mom must have double ordered it" I thought. Called my mom. She said she paid cash for one, but just in case I should exchange it for something else. After scrolling around online a QVC.com for a while, David said "Just go to EB (Electronics Boutique) and exchange it." Instead of driving across town, I went to Game Stop and looked around. After much debate, I picked up the display box for Cima: The Enemy, deciding that it looked interesting next to Fire Emblem (which would have been good but it was $5 more than Yu Yu Hakusho and I didn't have any money on me.
Anyway, I go up to the counter and ask the assistant manager if he knew if it was a good game. He looked at it and laughed as he pointed it out to another emplyee.
"Hey look! Cima: the Enemy: that game that was driving us crazy."
"How so?" I enquire.
"There was a guy calling here for two months straight who was looking for this game and we didn't have it yet."
"Lemme guess. When you finally got it in, he stopped calling, right?"
"Yep."
"Is it a good game?"
"I don't know." Looks at the back of the box. "It's a "new gaming experience"."
"Can I bring it back if I don't like it?"
"Sure."
So I decide to purchase the mysterious game, thinking 'Cima...that's an interesting name...hmmm....wonder if it'll be good.' Then the guy pulls out a baggy containing the inserts and the game. "SO I don't get a swanky box?" I asked, curious about the like of shiny new box that usually accompanies a shiny new game.
"It's the last copy. I'll put it in the box for you. Do you want the bag too?"
"Whatever's easier for you." I thought he was going to put the baggy and all in the box.
And then, after replacing the contents of the box, he put the box inside the baggy.
O_o
"You thought I was kidding?" the guy laughed, handing the package to me.
"Sorta...I guess if it's the last copy, though, that it's a good sign it's a decent game, right?"
::shrug::
So I go back to my car, skimming over the booklet on my way out of the mall. Outside, I started walking a little like Ulala (not completly though cause that'd draw too much attention) while I called David, who had never even heard of Cima.
I got home and sat down to start playing and someone offered to let me play Space Channel 5. Since I hadn't gotten to play this morning as Melissa was playing, I decided to do that first since it's take less time. David decided to pilfer my new game and goof around with it.
All gamers out there know that you don't mess with someone's shiny new game. I gave him permission to fool around but took away his saving privlages because I thought there was only one save point. Turns out there's two, so he can play later.
He said it was only fair since I had opened one of his games (even though it was due to my short attenion span and I didn't remove the wrapper. Not entirely anyway >.<)
Anyway, I let it slide but it was a bit anoying.
Then David and his friend invited me to play Furr Fighters with them. Basically, you pick an animal character, run around a field, pick up weapons and ammo, and try to kill each other. David played sniper from various places (I figured out a few of them and, while he was trying to shoot his friend at one point, I shot him at point blank range with a flame gun).
That was fun.
