ONTD STAR TREK MEETUP PLANNING POST

comment here to get in on the plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaans

COME ON COME ON YOU KNOW IT'S GONNA BE A PARTY

There might be more than one meetup depending on when people are going to be in the area so don't be shy if you're not in the Boston area just yet. I'd love to get a big movie viewing party together and then do something even more crazy later in the summer (BEACH INVASION, PERHAPS!?)

Either way, commenty comment so we can decide shit.

Edit:
this post is just for a "hey who is interested" general idea, once we got that going on (I'll give it 24hrs) we can start planning specific dates, let's be thinking a Saturday, early July!!!

EDIT EDIT:

LET US SHOOT FOR JULY 11th
because the first weekend is July 4th and thats a bad day to plan a trip into Boston (the fireworks etc). Let me know if this works for you

My only thing is I work at a showing of Rocky Horror and have to be there by 11pm, but I feel like that's late enough at night people would either want to a) head home or b)are local/night owls and might be down for staying (I am actually Dr Frankenfurter and would give you GQMFs a very special tribute, I promise)

FOR THOSE WITH CARS COMING FROM AFAR WHO DONT WANT TO DRIVE INTO THE CITY: I suggest what we do to best utilize the awesomeness that is Boston (and um, because I suck and don't drive) is park your cars at either Braintree or Alewife stations (whichever is easiest for you) which are on the Red Line of the subway (it is a complete no-brainer straight shot from the parking station to where the meetup can be, and I would hold a BIG GLITTERY SIGN FOR Y'ALL), and then we all meet at Park Street station which is the Boston Common, where there is the vast expanse of the the Common itself for lounging and photos and generally causing a ruckus, as well as a very large movie theater right there. And then from there nigh everything in Boston proper is walkable, or it's again a very quick train ride to Cambridge where lies Harvard Square (where I must venture for Rocky Horror) which has a slew of rad places for dining and, for those of age, ~libations~. But like legit, I'd be up for going anywhere and doing anythang.

FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO DRIVE FOREVER AND EVER: there are a plethora of garages that vary in cost and such throughout the city, and once a more succinct plan is formulated you could gage your options.

If anyone has any questions or concerns or specific things to discuss that they want to do in a more immediate fashion (if I'm at the computer), my AIM sn I can be reached at is WictorWictorTwo

ALSO: even if the movie isn't still out and around we can still plan for epic meeting up funtime, but we'll see. There's a bunch of theaters around Boston that tend to hang onto movies for longer than others. The delay (waiting till July 11) is because many people are coming from other states and need a heads up for time/work scheduling.
