Ah well I've had a jolly enjoyable evening, all in the company of Dad. I was invited to stay for Sunday dinner at Emma's as usual when I stay there on a Saturday but decided it'd be sly on dad since I abandoned his bbq last night and he'd bought in vegetables and stuff especially. So home I came at 4.30. Offered to help make tea but he refused me *sob* Had a lovely tea ~ turkey steak things and the usual Sunday palava. Followed by Oreo cake (Mallorcan don't ya know!) which was actually surprisingly nice. I'd been expecting the worst after Emma's scathing attack on it. She said the nice part was the base but to be honest it were a bit rank and powdery... the creamy stuff was lovely.
So I watched Will & Grace with Dad then Charmed then we started to watch a bit of the Swan and generally laughed at it (and cringed) then went to Bents Park to have a bit play with the Cat (4wd buggy). Just did some general practice around 3 wooden markers and ran out 4 pack of batteries. Practiced a bit cornering and had a long (but perfectly friendly and civil) discussion about lines and why I think I'm getting worse and how I need to improve my driving... and then discussing how we should hold a National on either Bents Park or the 'Nest' where we used to sledge. Would be amazing that. I think its possible! Hold a few club meetings then get a National for next year! Hell yeah. And it'd mean sleep!
Came home and watched Big Brother and we had a laugh at all of them in general (innit innit!) followed by Derren Brown who was a bit of a tit then he put his chimera thing on outside and we sat and watched the flames and discussed the pointlessness of Food Technology exams. I burnt the revision cards and practice essays from English Literature and watched them go up in smoke which I found quite therapeutic. So many things burnt with those ~ 5 years of Al'Ajdiri, 5 years of English Literature, my time in isolation (I wrote one of the essays in there), my failings (an A), my successes (an A*), An Inspector Calls, Lord of the Flies, Poetry and love. And last Tuesday night with the phone call too. Burn burn burn. I held back an essay... hopefully we're all going to go and burn things on the beach after the rest of the exams.
Before I knew it it was 11.30pm... we had a little kickabout with the football and then came in and watched the Classical Brit Awards while I ate cold potatoes. And now I'm about to go to bed.
I'm glad I didn't go to James' barbecue now... glad I came home. Always a Daddy's girl at heart.
