Wow. Ok, just about used up my lunch hour to read this- so worth it.viola69April 13 2004, 10:36:53 UTC
And feel like I need to go back & re-read the 'silent' conversation between Brian & Justin to fully digest it- know in part it was a none-too-subtle jab that *THIS* is Justin's family that he's stayed away from too long. Love seeing this dinner through Dan's eyes- since so much he didn't quite understand including Justin's desire to fuck outside- other than it was a result of Brian.

Ok, just to clarify my own read here- I see a number of posts here that seemed to assume that Brian made some sexual overture to Justin hence Justin being ready to go once he & Dan get home. My own interpretation is that Brian & Justin's whole dialogue- both the body-language one and the verbal one- was about first Brian talking to Dan and then Justin's conversation with Debbie- and the reinforcement of *this* is your family, your not an orphan so stop acting like it. It was the proximity of being with Brian and a breaking down in some sense of the walls Justin had built up in being separate from the gang that lead to him being so eager, even desparate for the rush of sex in public and reconnecting with Dan. right?

Your interpretation is more the way I see it as well.
For sure, Brian didn't make a pass at Justin. Brian is still gauging how Justin has dealt and is dealing with the death of his mother, and until Brian is sure he know where Justin's head is, he won't come on to him. At least not with patented Brian Kinney intensity!
I think Justin was so relieved and happy and comforted to be back with people he knows and who know him that he wanted to celebrate that--make the feeling last a little longer as it were.

Thought so. :-)
And Dan did get one very 'good' dig in to Brian with calling Brian on making Justin further feel guilty about his Mom's death. Brian was likely saying it in attempt to gauge reaction- but pushed Justin away from him in that conversation, and Brian was likely already regretting in his own 'no regret' way having said it.
So much goodness here though. :-)
Off to go forage for food now.

Exactly. Brian won't have Justin feeling like some lost little orphan when he has a support system in place!
Thanks for the comments!
