So...

I saw My Bloody Valentine last night.
A band I thought I would never ever see live and it was amazing.
It was something like this:

They also did this like 15 minute noise jam thing in the middle of one of my favorite songs, "You Made Me Realize," and it felt like a cross between being in a hurricane and standing on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral. I went with most of my band and I was glad that we shared the experience. Although, there was a lame part with security and smokeables but no one got a ticket or got kicked out. So it wasn't a total loss, just sort of scary. I totally spaced and forgot my camera. I got a new phone recently because the razor I had, along with sucking anyway, finally died. I took some photos and video during the show with the LGNV2 that I have now, but eh...

We played Alex's Bar finally on Wednesday, which was an ordeal but turned out to be a fun time. I'm thankful that Phil, the dude I helped to book it with, is a cool dude and that he made it happen. We are playing Detroit Bar next month and we are almost done with the writing process for the record. It is just the cleaning and revisions part that is going to be the real work that has to be done, prior to the fun part that recording is.
School is going alright. Just feels like old times. I have to write an essay over the weekend and I have no idea what angle I'm going to take. It is a prof that I had as an undergrad, so I am going to reread an essay I wrote two years ago for him about one of the authors that we have to address in this paper and then retrofit it. We are using turnitin.com, so I literally can't just turn this one back in due to the fact that it is on file on the website. So I would get caught plagiarizing myself. That being said, I can cut and paste a little though.
The girl stuff goes better some, but that is a story for another time. Being in Grad School has totally been a confidence booster, because I feel so much more productive. Broke, but at least not shiftless. I did a reading last weekend and rocked the mike. I'm doing another one this month and so if you are in the area, receive an invite on facebook as well as are interested in what I am actually up to with my education/craft then "come, cupid, come."

my band, school, music, my music, girls
