The weather has been warmer than usual, so I managed to get all the laundry dry, and also worked in the garden. I removed 2 barrow loads of weeds on Saturday afternoon, and then went to complete the job yesterday. As I was finishing up I found another cluster of sticky weed, but it started to rain so it will have to wait for another day ( Read more... )

You have some spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

I'm sorry you're suffering so much with the eczema.

We don't have spectacular sunrises and sunsets all the time, but usually when they happen I am there with my camera.

I'm sorry I'm suffering so much with the eczema too. Like lupus it is a disease of the auto immune system. I had the infantile version, and now I'm experiencing the 'senile' version.
It was triggered when we moved to this house 3 1/2 years ago. For a while I wondered if someone had put a curse on me. The dermatologist was hopeful that it would clear up, but it just gets progressively worse.

My eldest daughter used to have eczema when she was younger, but she says it's almost entirely disappeared since she's been eating a gluten-free diet.

I'm thinking you told us you were allergic to Smokey! And couldn't bring yourself to give him up, but am wondering if you could
not allow him to sleep with you,and keep him out of the bedroom altogether.
I know it's hard because I love cats but cannot have them near me. Have had severe allergies since I visited Oregon years ago. I have to have my pillowcase changed every three days or more, and mattress encased in plastic, pillow in allery proof cover.
Plus you've been working out in the garden, exposing yourself to everything. And cleaning.Which I don't do anymore, but when I did I used a mask.
Hope you get over this curse, which is simply as you said,an auto immune disorder.
And miserable. Wonder if you've ever used Calendula cream or ointment?

No, I'm not allergic to Smokey, and having lived happily with cats for 40 years; the dermatologist agrees it is unlikely that he is the cause. The only animal dander that does affect me seriously is horse dander, which gives me the equivalent of an asthmatic attack, but thankfully it is too urban here for horses to be a cause. And yes, I have been working in the garden, but the only allergy I am prone to out there is pollen, which affects my lungs, not my skin. And I have been cleaning, but I use the vacuum cleaner as far as possible, and then clean up the rest of the dust with a microfibre mitten, and there again it is my lungs that are affected, nothing else ( ... )
