I've been spending as much time as I can manage working in the garden. Now that the ivy has been removed many other weeds have taken the opportunity to germinate, and I want to eliminate them before they run to seed if at all possible. On Saturday I filled the wheelbarrow 3 times, and once on Sunday (I was feeling tired by then).
On Friday afternoon I went to the Spring Flower Show at the Town Hall. It didn't really offer much in the way of photo opportunities, but I'll post a couple of pics so you get the general idea.
Long tables with daffodils standing in narrow bottles
This daffodil was unusual
The camellia blossoms were spread out on a table - this was about a third of them
I was not there for long; I actually went to buy plants for the garden as they have items for sale in an adjoining room. I bought 2 unusual blue bell plants (the bloom is curly like a hyacinth), also an iris, and dahlia tubers.
My neighbour's gardens are looking good....
Magnolia
Peony Rose
and finally....my first rose of the season "Gold Bunny'.
With the imminent visit of Les' daughter Megan he finally called in a man to remove the building rubbish which has been lying in the driveway for some time. Tomorrow more will be going to the tip. It is a good feeling to have the garden area looking tidier, now if I can just achieve the same miracle with the house.........
