Powerless
So... Massive power outage in San Francisco. Six Apart's backup power didn't go on. Yet another item in the long list of frustrations since Six Apart bought LiveJournal in 2005.
I'm wondering what my alternatives are, at this point. In fact, I've already posted a request at ljgenie to see if anyone has any leads on ways of archiving LiveJournal entries. Especially, with the purpose of putting them on another blogsite.
Thing is... I really like the way that LiveJournal produces a "friends page"... it supports the concept of interblog community so much better than I've seen elsewhere. I don't know of any other blog host that does this. (Do you?)
Essentially, I've continued to pay them to maintain my blog... but the quality of service has degraded in the last two years. Not improved, as I'd hoped.
Maybe I'm just feeling a bit angsty right now... Maybe I'll feel better in the morning.
