Can I just tell you how much I disdain people who can't get over having simply disagreed over a political issue, in a political forum, years ago, and just start acting like nice, well-mannered, well-adjusted human beings? I have participated in a forum for years, where most of the people are brazen Liberals. Usually, that needn't be an issue, but it is. Ever since they removed the politics area, and put a "no politics" policy in place, many of their members still can't resist the temptation to poke me (and others) with a sharp stick. To drop a political cartoon. To troll against those of us with more Conservative learnings. And worse, the forum moderators are complete participants in this. Like having Police officers root for the muggers who are beating you up, and taking your stuff. There's just something wrong about that.
Kinda puts the stench of hypocrisy on their pro-humanitarian and "PEACE NOW! / WAR NEVER!" arguments, now that I think on it. I've endured the ad hominem attacks of these morons for years. But no longer. I've rubbed that forum off my list. Why go back? The Left's approach to diversity is not tolerance; it is either denialistic ignorance, or vituperative suppression of differences, to the point of threatening the health of the body politic.
And, just before I was about to post this, I got bitten by a friend for trying to add some cheer to her day. Though, I admit I might be a bit extra-sensitive right now.
I'm going to go find something to do.
