Time flies, eh?

So things are ramping up to my usual Larp-y insanity.

I'm looking forward to Forest of Doors this weekend.. and Shadowmoor is next weekend.. and a friend's baby shower is the weekend after that. Eeep!

After more hardware update fiascos with desktop at home, I finally caved.. I have a nice shiny new PC... with Vista Ultimate. I still have mixed reactions on this.. but the VERY first thing I did with it was switch off the damnable UAC and rearranged it more to my liking! I'm still settling into it, but it's nice to actually be able to play WoW and LotRO without either one crashing... and it's tempting to try and up the RAM on it. It currently has 2 gb, with a possible max of 8. Sooooo tempting.. but that will have to wait a bit.

On the house front, thus far Raven & I have gotten one of the two walls in the front room finished with the venetian (aka "pettable") plaster. Wow, that made a HUGE difference in that room. It was a lot of work, but I'm already looking forward to getting the other wall done. Sadly, it requires most of a weekend to get it done, since it's something that can't really be done over the course of a few weekday nights.
We've also gotten a quote or two to get the hole in the backyard (what was once a pond, before hole-ridden liners and other debris was pulled out of it), and I think that it's pretty do-able. We've also decided/realized that while both of us want to work on OUR house.. neither of us really have the time to do so. So we went ahead and also got quotes for bringing the front yard area back up to snuff. That was surprisingly doable as well.. so we will be happier all the way around on that. And as an added bonus, the fellow offered some great tips for dealing with our wild backyard (which we actually like that way, for the most part), insofar as chickweed and other annoyances. We'll be putting those into practice at some point.

I still have a half dozen or so empty banker/file (they're REALLY sturdy) boxes sitting in my garage, though. Anyone interested in them, before I put them in the trash?
