More about singing stones

Highly amused that Radio 4 has just explained why Hair of the Dog works.

But not the original intent for posting, which is just something strangely coincidental. I don't buy many books, and I don't go into the city centre much these days. Friday, I happened to, don't remember why, glanced at the box of bargain books outside a shop I usually ignore, spotted 'Necromancer' a Robert Holdstock paperback I hadn't heard of. Quid? Bargain!

Tried reading it on Saturday, didn't get into it. Sunday afternoon, after helping harley89 with her homework, needed to chill out, so tea, sofa, book, (and a CD by my step-mum with stone-circle on the cover). Got about 20 pages in, and was reminded of a recent article I read about Blue-stones and Archaeoacoustics and my encounter with those ancient singing stones. I've been looking for someone to tell that observation to ever since it happened, and at last, I made the connection, albeit to someone on the fringes. Got off that sofa and sent the tale to someone who might be interested (he is!).

Monday morning, and sadly heard that Robert had passed away Sunday morning.

P.S. Glad to find out that RH is far more ubiquitous than previously thought. Remember that ancient classic of PC gaming Elite? When first released, it came with a novella, written by... Yup :)
