(no subject)
I was going to witter on about stuff, but LJ was broke so I couldn't. Now it isn't broke so I can, but it'll be the abridged version!
Joined a band. First band practice I could make was last week, in Bath. Drove over in the van. Just got into Bath and the exhaust dropped off and was dragging. Couldn't find a sensible parking spot (Bath, you know?) before it finally just came off. Eventually found parking quite near the practice venue, by moving roadwork cones. Practice was maybe all of an hour, with most of the band in a clutter-filled back-room of a pub. Not my best performance, since I don't read music well and haven't done band things for, umm, 25 years. Went home on a recovery truck, so saved about £15 in diesel and bridge toll. New exhaust cost much more than that :/
Tested it out on a run east to Cornaidd Nicnac's place. All good, in a Good journey, Good company, Good food, Good times, and 'Good heavens is that the time?' kind of a night. Incidentally, Guitar Hero is a good start for learning to sight-play from tabs. Really.
Coming home, took the long way to avoid the bridge. No particular reason except I like the M50, and couldn't bothered with finding change for the bridge. Stopped at services, recognised a short chap in a hat, which was Pranay, my travelling companion from India, on his way back from severaLl pLlaces in north WaLles! There were more petty coincidences around there, (can't be bothered with details as it's late) so maybe there was some kind of coincidence cloud in the west midlands on sunday night.
It did't follow me home, that's for sure. Today was pretty much same old same old. Oh, apart from Bogiez news, but you all know that, right? In the diary.
