Well, I made it...

It was slow going, light traffic but those who did venture out today were going nowhere fast. It took almost 5 hours to do a 2.5 hour trip but most of the roads were almost completely covered with snow and ice. Then, to top it off, only one lane was moving. In order to pass, you had to venture into "not plowed yet land" which some tried, and quickly darted back over. It was an adventure, slid a bit from time to time but the worst part was yet to come and made me feel really silly. For those of you who have no experience driving on salt, snow, and ice covered roads, the cars (or god forbid) Semi-trucks in front of you are constantly spraying that water/salt mix on your windows. Well, Windshield wipers will not help by themselves as it just smears and creates a frosted white coating. It's like trying to drive while looking through a light bulb. Well Washer fluid usually works fine, but at these temps my anti-freeze washer fluid, well, froze. I had no way to thaw it and with no place to pull over I did the only thing I could. The people behind me thought I was an idiot im sure, but from time to time I would roll down my window, turn on my wipers and stick my bottle of water out and sprinkle some on the window so I can see for another five or so miles. I hope Santa Visits all of you good boys and girls out there and even all of you naughty people too. and I hope Satan visits my Ex... No forget I said that. ( I'll just keep that thought to myself)
Merry Christmas all....
