i'd hate to sound like i'm doing a movie review because i do that for chronicles all the time but The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a fucking amazing movie. even though i waited almost 2 hours for brad pitt to look hot (since he spent his beginnings in old age).
new orleans was lovely in the early-mid twentieth century. actually most of rural america is in my opinion, since i've been inflenced by my ethnic american lit class.
Daisy: Would you still love me if I were old and saggy?
Benjamin: Would you still love ME if I were young and had acne? When I'm afraid of what's under the bed? Or if I end up wetting the bed?
so many times during the movies i cried for the star crossed lovers, torn apart by misunderstandings and age differences. cate blanchett was just beautiful, and her dance moves were enchanting. and brad pitt stoic and emotionless but you couldn't help but sympathize and feel for him.
Along the way you bump into people who make a dent on your life. Some people get struck by lightning. Some are born to sit by a river. Some have an ear for music. Some are artists. Some swim the English Channel. Some know buttons. Some know Shakespeare. Some are mothers. And some people can dance.
For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
Mrs. Maple: Benjamin, we're meant to lose the people we love. How else would we know how important they are to us?
glad my Vday wasn't so sucky after all (:
