So I went to 32 Deadly Masters. It was a good time. The people I was going with dropped out, then the replacement dropped out. I was so blessed to drive 4 hours to Ft Wayne alone... attend the event til 2am, then drive back home 4 hours tired with the road covered with dense fog. I hate fog.
The event was a great time though. The MC battle was astounding, and it was great to see all the elements of hip hop gathered together (DJs, eMCees, bboys, and writers). In attendance were organizers Glide, Pringlz, EvilLynn, Mystique, and M$G of Bodily Funktions. Also present were Popula, Grillz, Flex Abilities, Sensei Shawn, Dr. Poplock, Cryzko, Mr. Machine, Funkyrhino, and a mess of others. I really didn't expect to see so many talented dancers present. We all got down and brought funk love to the midwest with some intense Funk Styles showings.
I was very surprised to see so many females there. Most hip hop events are sparse with females.. but yes, many many.
Arranged a place to stay in Ohio. Bought my ticket for LA. Discussions with the company are looking promising. I have a few other interviews lined up with other companies that I'm not really interested in. August is looking up, and I'm not going to let anyone or anything hold me back. Time to shine.
All you can be is you. That's all anyone can ask, that's all anyone can expect, that's the least you should expect from yourself.
I'm going to stop letting empty promises get the better of me. Just flow.
Band practice with Emily, Matt, and Steve was good. It shows promise. Maybe this one will grow into something I can't fathom. A unique blend is the best ingredient.
