Heh I just updated the other day but that's ok because today I'm bored and have nothing to do. mk so. Last night I wen't to Cat's halloween party, it was really fun. Like there were some people there that I thought I would've never hung out with, but they ended up being pretty cool. Funny how things like that happen lol. Soo.. nothing interesting has happened since the last time I updated except that lol. Yeah. The original purpose for this update was to give you an oh so fun tutorial that no one will probably ever use but that's ok because I'm bored anyways!

So.. I Had a few questions on how to do this so I made a short tutorial. It's pretty easy. Especially if you're comfortable in photoshop. I'm using PS 7 right now.

Also, I was thinking about making a tutorial for making layouts like the header with background lines (similar to mine) but the thing is, the person would have to be pretty ok with using html. well.. & photoshop. Whatever. Any feed back would be cool.

ANYWAYS. Back to what I was saying. I'm not great at these tutorials but I'll try.

Mmk. So this little tutorial here will teach you how to basically put links in a header image instead of having them as text.
*(Example: How the links are on the top header image instead of a default box- mypatronus)
*This tutorial will just give you a centered image and entries that look like this:

*I don't know if you can put a border around your entries with this, because it will border your image map aswell. [And it looks ugly- don't try it heh] But you can somewhat disguise it with a repeating background (Like if you remember my layout where I used the vector of my Hermione costume). If you want to know how to do that, comment, and I'll edit this entry or make a new one (:
*The html transform website is apparently down, so I'm putting overrides in text area boxes.. sorry!

Ok on with the tutorial.

First of all, choose/make your image. This is my example:

Then choose your marquee tool.

Find your 'Info' box on the right.

Or if you can't find it you can go to Window (at the top), then down to Info.

Right click on the X and change the measurments to pixels.

Ok. Now we actually start. so. hover the marquee tool over the top left corner of your word(or image) that you want to use as your first link. Just hold it there still and then look at your Info box. You'll see x and then a number, and then y and a number. Copy those down somewhere like notepad or on a peice of paper.

Next you'll do the same thing except on the bottom right corner.

So now, What I wrote down looks like this:
6,176,101,195
When you do your overrides.. DON'T PUT SPACES BETWEEN ANYTHING.

So anyways, do that for your other links.

& Then you're done! Except for the overrides part.

So here:

You can add more urls if you want.

That override goes in the LASTN_WEBSITE part of your overrides. If you don't have that, here's the overrides with the LASTN_WEBSITE part aswell.

By the way you should center your entries aswell.

LASTN_WEBSITE<=

<=LASTN_WEBSITE

Saying that, you should obviously have a website listed in your Info or else it won't work.

I think that's pretty much it but tell me if you have any questions or whatever (:

Remember this is just for BASIC image mapping. Like I said earlier it would just be as basic as my last vector layout. But I'll make a more advanced one like what I'm using now if you want. I just don't know if anyone cares lol and I'm just doing this cause I'm super bored.

..I just remembered I gotta carve pumpkins for Halloween hehhhhhh.. <3
