Whoa, time to play catch-up

I just realized it's been more than a month since I last posted and an entry is long overdue. Quickly:

The ex came to town. I didn't see him, but I decided at the last minute that I wanted to talk in person while he was here. He wanted me to go out to the bars with him and his friends, but I didn't want to do that, so we ended up having our conversation over the phone. I guess I finally realized how hurt he was by our break-up and that he is way beyond it with no intention of being together again. He was having trouble realizing that I hadn't gotten to that place yet. Bottom line: I got the closure that I needed and I'm not sure if we'll ever talk again.

Two weeks ago a job posting at the Ahwatukee Foothills News was sent out and last Monday I dropped off my portfolio. Last Friday, I had an interview, but I'm still waiting to hear if I got the job or not. I've been looking for possible places to live in Phoenix which is kind of exciting, but if it doesn't pan out, I know something else will come along. But I would love to be writing again and I think this job is an amazing opportunity. I'll let you know when I find out.

It's been interesting looking for housing in Phoenix and I'm trying to decide if I want to do the roommate thing again. It would be significantly cheaper if I moved in with someone else but I also like the idea of being by myself. Although saving a little money would definitely be a bonus given gas prices and such.

I had a couple of friends graduate this past weekend and I'm realizing how much I'm going to miss everyone. But we all knew it was inevitable. We'll have another round in December.

I'm buying rollerblades tomorrow so I'm going to start being more active. I think I am also going to buy a jump rope. I read in a magazine that it's an easy way to get some cardio in and a jump rope is only about $5. Since so much is up in the air I'm hesitant to join a gym, but once I figure things out, I'll look at that when the time is right.

I've also been reading lately and I'm enjoying The Place to Be: CBS, Washington and the Glory Days of Television by Roger Mudd. He was passed on by CBS to replace Walter Cronkite and instead chose Dan Rather. I love historical stuff like this, especially in regard to the media and how it has evolved.
