[Claire lives on the second floor, and hears him yelling both through the delay of the network and outside her door. she had been a little busy with the monsters coming in more force than usual and had barely made it across town and back. Whilst dealing with this kind of shit is kind of her bag, there are more people to look out for then just herself and a few others and it was.. well... hard.

Leaping to her feet, She all but flies over the back of the couch and tears open the door with her rifle aimed. It's dark, and while the generators in the building work, she hadn't quite mastered the wiring so the only light afforded to the building's inhabitants was the green EXIT sign flickering over the stairwell.

[But even if he is there, she meets something else first. Huge and seemingly ready to eat her, Claire gasps and takes a quick step back, aiming and firing into what she can only guess to be it's torso.

[Riqis makes a startled sound at the sound of a door slamming open into the hallway, bolting upright and opening his own door halfway...a shot fires and bullets flies past down the hall before he can see who or what else is out there, so he just stands in the doorway with Soul Eater raised tenatively.]

...Claire!?

[He calls out, just as he hears another growl to his left, gaze whipping sideways to find nothing but a deeper shadow in the dark, dodging tauntingly out of his peripheral range]

[Although the first instinct is to go crashing inside and slaughter whatever moves, Sephiroth knows better. He slips inside quietly, eyes and ears searching for the slightest disturbance.

There is an eerie humming, decidedly not the killing song of the softly glowing Masamune. But the stairwell is clear, yet the General does not have time to clear every floor.

But gunfire perks his attention and Sephiroth runs the rest of the flights, kicking open the door and emerging into the top floor hallway. It is nearly pitch dark, but his eyes are keen, he can make out a few shapes and certain hues of black and grey.]
