If language doesn't matter in your game, then why use a language you are unfamiliar with at all? It may be canon for her to know Chinese, but it is grammatically wrong and you as the player look wrong or ignorant too. Your 'science is creepy' translation was incorrect because the characters used for 'creepy' indicate a physical movement, not a feeling.
You can try, but my only concern is that it's better if you try to be accurate, and not be satisfied with only your efforts when someone has indicated that the language use is incorrect. You can do your best on an exam, but if you answer something incorrectly, you are still incorrect.
No one would fault you for having that line in English, then this issue with Chinese could be completely avoided. If all languages are one, as you say, then why not use English to give most if not all of the people passing by a chance to read and understand it?
Chinese or any foreign language shouldn't become a gimmick or on display solely to look trendy, similarly how one would balk at English being used incorrectly by those who do not speak it well. If you do desire to use Chinese, then strive for accuracy. One possibility may be if you have some friends who do know Chinese, is it possible to have them assist you with it?
As I've said, I do the best I can. It's a part of River and something that should be included in the playing of her.
However as it is something that I wont be doing because all languages sound the same in Luceti... it's a MOOT point. I'm sorry you took such an irritated stance towards my few uses in Luceti, but I haven't used any of said 'wrong' Chinese in any of my actual posts. Any continued complaints about my use of Chinese in River's RP posts for the main Luceti community to respond, of which there are none, is pointless.
Again, I'm sorry this 'issue' bugs you so much, but it really isn't a relevant problem as it has not, and will not, be used in the future anyways.
