[Now, normally Jim is a lot more careful with his SFC. He has seen these accidental posts, and he'd rather avoid the whole matter himself. Normally, yes. But today he is very distracted. So distracted that he doesn't really notice his fingers brushing over the wrong button as he sets down the device, before tossing his coat out of the camera's view ( Read more... )

So, what? Are you trying to stare yourself one into existence?

[Ha ha, sorry, Jim. Looks like you just got your first taste of the Creeper Stare.]

Can I stop by your workshop and look at it up close?

[Thank god it is only directed at the surfer. Wouldn't want those creeper stares to fall on him.]

Sure. Though if you really wanna see it in action, we're gonna have to go some place else. This is way too crowded.

Near the park? There is a field there that's big enough that nothing will get in our way.

Sounds good. I'll meet you there.

[And with that, Equius is on his way.]

[Hope you don't mind him getting there quicker, cause Jim just hopped onto that awesome board of his, zooming off to where they are set to meet.]

[Equius gets there in time to see Jim zipping around on that little board of his, and he watches for a few moments in appreciation before he waves at him from the ground.]

That thing is amazing.

[Jim steers the board, letting it hover a few inches off of the ground, though he doesn't get off. Look Equius, now you two are the same size for once.]

Hardly. This is nothing compared to the one I've got at home.

[They're the same size for a few seconds, at least, because Equius is dropping to his knees to get a better look at that beautiful machine.]

How does it work? What powers it? What's the [insert long, hand-waved series of technology questions here]?

The sail functions as a solar panel. It transfers the power to the generator that works both the thrust and the anti gravity module. Which then [and insert more magical space technology here on how this thing works.]

So then the [more nerdy discussion about machinery and technology].

I see... it's a fascinating device.

[He tears his eyes away from it to glance up at Jim.]

Can you help me make one of my own?

Yeah, sure. Though I'm thinking we're gonna need a bit more sturdy one for you.

I don't doubt it. I think I'd snap yours in half.

[Which is the reason he hasn't asked for a ride, Jim. The only reason.]

Hey, it is stronger than it looks.

[Sorry, has to defend his baby! You understand.]

But yeah. I build mine with an eye for speed, not power.
