(no subject)

Went into school to do the English Synoptic today. It actually made me feel quite sad that it's the last time I'd do an English exam.. I'm going to miss them.. Albeit in the same way hostages who develop Stockholm Syndrome miss the terrorist that held the gun to their head, but I'll still miss them. And I must say that Dr. Coley's revolutionary teaching style has been very helpful, even if I was kept up all last night thinking "Why is purple..?". But the paper itself wasn't too bad. The pre-release was reasonably good once I got into it, and the unseen material was a bit crappy but relatively easy to understand. The questions wern't too bad either. Especially the last bit of question two, with the immortal words "In your opinion". God yes! I love being opinionated. It was about how studying English Literature as a subject destroys your subjective mind and you read everything objectively. I lied a few times in the answer, but I agree with that. I can't read a book or poetry or go to the theatre without trying to pick bits of subtext out and search for stupid things like "dramatic devices". I also wrote it's wrong to put deadlines and time restrictions on essays because you're supressing the creative flow, or something equally arty sounding.

I'm in again tomorrow to do PYB5, possibly one of the hardest exams I've had to revise for. It's just so all encompassing and irritating and synoptical. I'm not looking forward to it. And whats worse is when people ask me to help them with a question I'm not even sure I know myself..
