Thoughts During the Week

I haven't really listened to Zai's album intently although I already have several copies, 1 copy that I bought, 2 copies that were given to me, and 1 copy that pinkrabbit17 won during the VP event last Monday. And yet it's only now that I really listened to his album.

The first song, Wo Bu Shi F4, invokes a really, really pleasant feeling in me coz Jay wrote it for ZaiZai. There are conflicting reports on whether Jay had written the lyrics. But from what I understand, he composed the music. For that alone, I am very happy because the melody is sooo nice and catchy, just perfect for Zai's character. Jay was able to capture an aspect of Zai's character in the song's melody. I guess during those times when they were both endorsing Pepsi, Jay was already charmed by Zai's character. Anyway, I'm sure Zai is very happy too since he also idolizes Jay.

I also like Track Nos. 2, 3, 4, 7.

I attended the signing of a facility agreement for our client. We were advised by the partner that the dress code is very strict. So I donned a suit for the event.

It was interesting seeing the senior officers of different banks in one conference room. We were really just acting like glorified ushers, assisting them on where to sign, etc. But I have no complaints. I actually enjoyed being in their company because I would eventually want to focus on a career in banking to suit my economic/finance background. Add to that, the delicious food served after the signing. :P

Speaking of economics, I am thinking of enrolling myself in some Econ and Finance courses, just to brush up on the principles that I learned back in college. But let's see if my schedule would allow it.

On a lazy Saturday afternoon where I am supposedly just lounging around the house after a hectic work, I find myself back in the office, trying to finish this super-important memo that we have to send to the client on Monday.

Sometimes the pressure from work is exhilarating as it forces me to think and consider out-of-the-box solutions. However, sometimes thinking too much can also be very tiring. As one of the partners told me yesterday, she's often afraid that one simple mistake would lead to our clients losing billions of money. And it's true, that's why we are often reminded to be vigilant in our research because if there's a glaring difference between law school and law practice, that would be the possibility of disastrous consequences in case of the latter.

During my senior year when I was doing my internship at the Office of Legal Aid, our clients fight over 10-20 square meters of land, over P10,000 worth of checks. But now, we're dealing with hundreds of hectares of land and billions worth of money. So that kinda puts everything in perspective.

Anyway, back to work. But it looks like I still have to return to the office tomorrow.

work, zaizai
