I can't believe this!!!
I just can't fathom that about 16,000 people are estimated dead in Sri Lanka alone with this Asia Earthquake.
The tsunami really hit Sri Lanka badly. The most deaths have occurred on the southeast shores. Since Sri Lanka is so populous and so small many people live on the beaches, literally. Please help out with as much as you can. I spent all my x'mas money on rice and dry food to send to the disaster relief. The Red Cross is going into the disaster zones very soon with many items much in need since most of the people that lost their lives and families were poor to begin with.
When I come back to California I'm helping my dad organize a rebuilding of houses for the family members of the 16,000 (so far) who have died. The total deaths has been estimated at 20,000 ... and they're still counting. Sri Lanka has declared a state of mourning and nothing will go on for the next five days, including New Years celebrations.
I still had a great time on vacation (till now) but I miss california a lot now. I can deal with earthquakes from time to time but this is catastrophic. Hasn't this country gone through enough???
