My fandom-report =3

Aug 14, 2008 11:23

Kisu-fu did a short report on her fandoms, and then we had a talk about it and I said I would like to do something like that, but most likely nobody would know zip about most of my fandoms. But she said, that would be a reason to do it: advertising around. Well, I just did it^^
To confuse nobody: I like other series as well. But those are my seven over all favourite fandoms.
Please tell me in case we share fandoms^^

Kaze Hikaru

Tominaga Sei, who lost her father and is now looking for her elder brother, joins the Shinsengumi under the name of Kamiya Seizaburo. While the historic events enroll, she learns to deal with the strange habits of the men around her and the fact, that she herself is a girl. It doesn't help that she falls in a one-sided love with her senior Okita.
Shojo-manga by Watanabe Taeko, Flower comics
(l. to r.: Nagakura Shinpachi, Harada Sanosuke, Todo Heisuke, Kamiya Seizaburo, Okita Soji, (u. to d.) Tominaga Sei, Okita Sojiro, Saito Hajime; Hijikata Toshizo)
Well, why do I love this manga, besides the obvious fact that it is Shinsengumi? First, the mangaka actually tries to to it as correct as possible and seems to be researching a lot. Second, the story has a very good balance of sad and funny moments, and everything that happens seems to be plausible. Third, I love how it is drawn.
*insert endless fangirl sparkle*rant here*

Bleach

Kurosaki Ichigo, who was a normal high school student before, becomes a soul reaper, and he and his friends get drawn into the upcoming betrayal of a mighty soul reaper captain and the following war.
Shonen-manga and anime by Kubo Tite, Shonen Jump
(l. to r.: Tousen Kaname, Wanderweiss Margera, Rikichi, Kurosaki YuzuxTsubokura Rin, Tousen Kaname)
This manga has the coolest male manga character ever in it!!!! *sparkle* And this character has a fanboy (yeah, and I just had to cosplay him |DDD) Plus, my absolute OTP is Bleach. But the main reason why most of my FF is Bleach is, that it is the only one of my fandoms that is big. (And yes, I'm a comment whore)

Death gate Cycle

It has been ages since the godlike race of the Patryn, mighty magicians, got imprisoned into a cruel world called "Labyrinth by their rivals, the Sartan. Now Xar, the mightiest of them, sends Haplo, his loyal liege, into the other worlds to prepare their conquest.
Book by Margaret Weis/Tracy Hickman, Wizards of the coast
(l. to r.: A evil dragon, Marit, Alfred; Jarre, Limbeck; Dog, Haplo; Hugh Mordhand)
This is way my oldest fandom. I still love it to pieces; the language is lightly upper language, the characters and the story are very well developed, and with seven books is it not too long and not too short. To my opinion, it is way way better than the Dragonlance books, because there is much more suspense built in it. Although the story is pretty serious, there is quite a lot comedy in it. And Zifnab is much better than Fizban O^O

HunterxHunter

Hunter are people who "hunt" something: That may be criminals, but also special food, certain animals, a melody, or anything else that can be collected. Gon Freeks wants to become a hunter to find his father, Killuah wants to be free of his family, Kurapika wants to avenge his family, and Leorio wants to become a doctor. Each of them has different reasons, but they become good friends, and help each other as much as they can. because not everyone wants to play nice and fair...
Shonen Manga and Anime by Togashi Yoshihiro, Shonen Jump
(l. to r.: Mito Freeks, Palcnoda, Clotopi, Nobunaga, List, Kaito)
My second oldest manga fandom. The only one that I have cosplayed the main character of. Two things about the series still elate me to no end: First, the fact that women are like men. Strong women are strong, weak women are weak. There may be not many of them, but there is not a single one of the "I am strong until my hero is near and then I get beaten up and he has to save me"- stereotype. Second, it is all about friendship. They main driving force (represented by Gon9 is friendship: Not honor or love makes the world go round. It's having friends.

Juuni Kokki/Twelve Kingdoms

Nakajima Youko is a insecure schoolgirl in Tokio, until Keiki appears in front of her and tells her that she is to become the queen of a kingdom called Kei, that is situated in another realm and takes her and two classmates of her to the twelve kindoms. Other stories taking place in the same universe include the story of the kingdom of Tai, the way of a princess after her parents died, and many more.
Anime by Studio Pierrot, based on the novels by Ono Fuyumi
(l. to r.: Enou/SHoryu, Enki/Rokuta, Risai, Kaname Takasato (Taiki), Sugimoto Yuka, Seishuu)
The only one of my fandoms which I really, really suck to describe. It is the most beautiful and interesting one, with the least *squee* but the most *think* factor, it's the most serios one. It's sad and very, very adult, and not in a gory or ecchi kind. Juuni Kokki was also the first one of my fandoms I wanted to cosplay from (and I havn't done so yet): the short blond one, Enki.

Shinsengumi

The shinsengumi are my only RP-fandom (yes, I fangirl Eiki, but that isn't a fandom XD). In the end of the Edo-era, they fought for the shogunat's sake, to sustain relative peace in Kioto. They started under the name of Mibu-ro but they changed later on. Their flag was red and showed the kanji of "Makoto", which means "Loyalty". They are among the most well-known and popular historical people in Japan. There are countless books, manga and movies that deal with them.
(up l. to r.: Okita Sojiro (here Sogo), Kondo Isami and Hijikata Toshizo in the manga "Gintama", Cast of the NHK dorama "Shinsengumi!", Kioto version of Hello Kitty, random Shinsegumi picture (most likely (u. to d.) Okita, Kondou, Hijikata))
They are COOL. And I love history and they are history. And cool. XD my all over fav is still Hijikata, although I don't like him that much in most adaptions.

Weiß Kreuz

Weiß, a group of four young men, kills the evil that the law can't reach.
Manga (Weiß, Weiß Side B), Anime (Weiß Kreuz, Weiß Kreuz Gluehen) and Drama-CDs @Koyasu Takehito, Shokokan
(l. to r.: Manx, Sakaki Ouka, Tsukiyono Omi, Naoe Nagi)
My oldest manga/anime fandom. The story isn't that great (much freak of the week in the beginning), nor are the animations, and I have very little love for the fandom, because it's about exclusively yaoi, which the series is zero percent. Yet the characters are great (and I may be the only person that likes Gluehen Yoji better that WK Yoji and please don't kill me because of that ^^°) and the over all idea is great as well. The basic story has much potential, and even though the canon is contradictory with itself sometimes, it has very interesting developments and some of the sweetest and saddest couples ever *hugs the totally underrated !canon! NagiTot, OmiOuka and SakuAya pairings*
