Some people can be soo stupid!
So this woman calls me today to tell me my upcoming work schedule.... even though i was supposed to call them to let them know my availability over the next coupple of weeks.... she says:
June 25th, july 1st, 2nd, and 7th.... the one shift at Leaside, the other three at Parkway...
WHAT KIND OF CRACK IS THIS WOMAN ON?????
I specifically said no fridays or saturdays..... for those of you who dont want to look those dates up, one falls on a saturday, another on a friday! Not only that, but i have never even Heard of these pools, nor did i work at either one last year!!! So I've concluded already that this woman is just as much of an idiot as the one who did the scheduling last year... grrreeeeaaatttt!
Anyway, for most, if not all of you reading this are very confused as to why im talking about pools and wondering what the hell i have been up to since i've been home.... well there is a large explanation involved.... but to be nice, i will summarize...
Since about mid may i have been working at The Keg as a hostess, and the Honest Lawyer as a server... very recently (last week) I got hired at the vet clinic where i did my coop way back in gr. 11, i've been trying to get a hold of the woman who does the scheduling there and sorting out when i could come in and such... but we finally settled on friday afternoons, 2-7, i walk dogs and clean cages and play with the cute animals, annnd the best part... i'm getting paid to do a job i would gladly do for free.... and another bonus is that the vet really likes me, so ca-ching, future reference for vet school *wink wink*
So things have been going alright, i really enjoy my jobs, and interacting with people, etc. however, things arent alll good.... at the keg i have been getting 1 shift a week for about 4 weeks now when i keep putting on the request sheet that i am available for 3.... so that has been frustrating.... although my manager offered me another shift this week, as well as 2 next week, which is great. But at the honest lawyer in the meantime i got mad because they made me a floor runner (busser) for 2 fridays in a row... it's not so much that i am against bussing tables, because, really i dont mind alll that much... it's the fact that it's on one of the busiest nights, 2 times in a row..... also these past 2 weeks i only got 2 shifts/wk when i signed up for 5.... anyway there's other shit going on there... but anyhoo i may be quitting very soon.... but there are different things added in to that story....
anyway, getting back to the first part of my post... i called the lifeguard company i worked for last year to see if they were still hiring, given that i am not getting enough money from the other jobs.... so anyhoo, i called her on monday, i was supposed to call today or tomorrow when i knew my schedule and then they would let me know if i would be starting work this upcoming week.... but as you can see from what i wrote before, i'm very confused as to why this woman would schedule me ahead of time, and on the days i said i couldnt work nonetheless..... although, i will give her some benifit of the doubt simply because it was not her who i spoke to on the phone.... plus, she's new this year for scheduling.....
So that about sums up my current position job-wise.... socially i'm not seeing too many people these days... my biological clock is completely screwed up so i have terrible sleeping patterns and such, and i just havent been feeling socially inclined lately since whenever i'm at work i'm in super-peppy, happy mode socializing with customers constantly, but adversely i have been seeing lots of adam which makes me very happy : D though i'm sure we'll both regret it when i have to go back to guelph in the fall : ( In other news i bought myself a new bike a few weeks ago which has turned out to be one of the best purchases of my life! I LOVVVEE this bike! In the 3 weeks i've had it i have already put 250km on it... biking has just become something that i am passionate about and really enjoy doing, and i'm always looking for company on my rides, so if you're interested in joining me, let me know ; )
That pretty much concludes this evening's post, seeing as how the computer screen is starting to burn my eyes and i should probably try to sleep seeing as how it is now 20 past 3.....
Anyhoo, hope everyone is doing well, and if i havent spoken to you lately or havent been online, please dont take offense, it's really that i just dont have the energy or desire to sit on my computer on msn and so forth
