Rude people

For my class I have to post answers to given discussion questions. I then have to post a follow-up response to someone else's posting. Last week I wrote a follow-up to this guy's post and I thought I was very professional but argued his point. This week, the guy writes a follow-up to my post and it seems to me the reply is very mocking. To be more specific, he kind of makes fun of the example I used (I could be reading sarcasm where there was none intended, but I don't think so) and gives "a better way" to help the patron I describe in my example. Am I being too touchy? Should I reply that I think his posting is a little unprofessional? I'm a bit scared of starting something in a class setting, so I might just let it go. It just makes me a little uncomfortable and belittles me to make fun of the example I used. On top of that, hardly anyone has posted yet, so I only have his comment to respond to (which I REALLY don't want to do) or someone who basically said the same thing I did without an example. The posting is due noon Tuesday and tomorrow I am away for a meeting with my advisor. Guess the follow-up posting will have to wait for tomorrow night. I hate cutting it that close, though!
