SUMMARY: No matter how much they fight, the day will always end with Sungyeol dazing Myungsoo.
It's six in the morning and the seven members of Infinite need to get their tired bodies up from their beds. No matter how much they need and want more hours of rest, they had to start their day that early, especially now that their concert was just around the corner.
Sungyeol got up first and tried to wake up his two roommates-Dongwoo hyung and his L-but anything he tried didn't work; he didn’t even know why he bothered since only their leader could stir them up during the group’s most strenuous schedules. He just decided to leave them alone and make his coffee.
Still half-asleep and eyes half-closed, he opened the door of their room and let out a gasp as he came face to face with a serious-faced maknae.
“You scared me!” bellowed the tallest member, now totally awake like he had his coffee already.
“Hyung,” Sungjong started with no trace of being sorry for almost giving his hyung a heart attack early in the morning, “let's do Trouble Maker.”
“What?” Trouble Maker? He had to say this right now?
“Let’s do Trouble Maker for our solo stage,” reiterated Sungjong patiently.
Sungyeol rubbed his eyes and walked to the kitchen. “Okay, okay. If that’s what you want,” he said while bobbing his head up and down. He decided he would just agree to whatever Sungjong suggest because it was too early to argue with a persistent youngest and his suggestions couldn’t be that bad, really.
“And you’ll be Hyuna,” Sungjong added as he followed Sungyeol to the kitchen.
“Ok-” Sungyeol’s eyes widened with the sudden bang of information and stopped walking. “What?”
Sungjong bit his lower lip, expecting this reaction. “Hyung, you need to be Hyuna,” pleaded Sungjong. “For a change, you know.”
Sungyeol shook his head and pointed a finger to his dongsaeng. “I’ll do Trouble Maker with you only if you’re gonna be Hyuna.”
“But hyung!” Sungjong whined as Sungyeol continued walking, “It would really be a surprise to everybody if you played Hyuna sunbae and I played Hyunseung sunbae. They won’t expect that, so we will surely get a huge applause for the surprise.”
“No,” Sungyeol replied indifferently, his concentration now focused on his coffee maker.
“It will be great! Please, do this for me. I will be twenty soon, and I want to show everyone that I am really manly,” Sungjong pleaded. He had practiced last night all the arguments he could give his hyung; he knew it would be hard to coax Sungyeol to do something like this. He had asked their boss’s permission, too. Just to be sure.
Sungyeol turned to face Sungjong and took a sip of his Americano. “You think it will be epic?”
“Larger-than-life kind of epic,” Sungjong affirmed enthusiastically.
“Well, I guess it’s gonna be fun and new and exciting,” Sungyeol said to himself, took another sip and told their maknae, “Okay, since I’m a nice hyung, I’ll be Hyuna then.”
“Really?” Sungjong beamed and excitedly shook his hyung’s free hand with his two hands. “You mean it, right, hyung? Thanks a million, Sungyeol hyung!”
“On one condition.” Choding looked at Sungjong straight in the eyes.
“Anything.”
“You have to kiss me… For real.”

After finishing his coffee, Sungyeol went back to their room and found only Myungsoo in his bunk, apparently making sure he’s vehemently stuffing his belongings inside his bag.
“Poor back pack; what did it do to deserve such treatment,” Sungyeol teased but Myungsoo ignored him, which was seriously not a big deal for Sungyeol since L was such a moody bastard in the morning.
“So,” Sungyeol laid down on his own bed, his two arms folded behind his head, and continued, “Sungjong and I will do Trouble Maker for our concert.” Still no answer from Myungsoo. “And Sungjong said that I will be Hyuna. I agreed because I think it would be fun, and the fans will love it.” Sungyeol waited for an answer but heard nothing.
He stood up and rested his chin on his boyfriend’s top bunk bed. "Do you think I’ll be pretty wearing a red dress and cat ears?” he asked while giving Myungsoo his smarmiest smile.
“No,” L deadpanned.
“What,” Sungyeol whined, disappointed with what he heard. “You’re supposed to say that I will look perfectly fabulous, Kim Myungsoo.”
Myungsoo looked at him and sighed. He threw his bag to the side that accidentally hit Sungyeol, and went down from his bed.
"Ouch! That hurts!" Sungyeol complained while rubbing the part where he had been hit. He went back to lying down to his own bed while his best friend continued to ignore him. “Ya. That was your cue to say sorry, mister. Do I have to tell you what you have to do every single time?”
Myungsoo threw him an irate look. “Why did you ask Sungjong to kiss you for real?”
“Oh. You heard that?” Sungyeol asked but didn't really need an answer. “That’s my gift to him for his twentieth birthday,” he answered apathetically, because really, that was no biggie.
“A kiss as a gift?” Myungsoo asked, scandalized. “To another man? Forgetting that you have a boyfriend?”
“Oh, c’mon L. It’ll be just a smack and it’s Sungjong; he’s practically a brother. No big deal.”
“’No big deal’? What, you can just kiss anyone and it will not be a big deal? You’re unbelievable!”
“But it’s only for the concert! And we’re professionals; we won’t take it personally,” Sungyeol retorted, starting to get irritated because it was too early for an argument like this.
“’Won’t take it personally’ my ass. You didn’t even ask if it’s okay with me.”
“I thought you would be okay with it and-“
"My boyfriend kissing another guy will never be okay, Lee Sungyeol!" Myungsoo barked, unable to contain his anger now.
“Why are you being so bratty? I told you it would be nothing!”
“Fine! Kiss him whenever you want! Kiss whoever you want!” Myungsoo blurted out and walked out of the room.

Sungyeol and Sungjong had started practicing for their special stage while the others watched them during their breaks.
“I can’t believe you’re going to do this, Sungyeol,” Hoya said after Trouble Maker stopped playing from the speakers and Sungyeol, who seemed to not hear anything because his mind is in a haywire, went to sit and rest beside nobody.
“Why not? This is his gift for me,” Sungjong informed them. “And I really thank him for that.” He looked at his hyung and Sungyeol gave him a forced warm smile, though he didn’t really hear what Sungjong said.
“I thought the kiss would be his gift?” Myungsoo suddenly asked. “Sounds nice,” he added with a tone dripping with sarcasm, which was wholly not obvious to Sungjong.
“Plus that!” said Sungjong happily.
“Lee Sungjong!” Sungyeol, whose senses were brought back to earth by L’s voice, hissed at his dongsaeng.
Myungsoo scoffed and left the practice room.
“And there goes the jealous kitty,” Woohyun sang melodramatically.
Sunggyu looked at him and shook his head. “What’s with the kiss as a gift, Sungyeol?”
“I asked Sungjong to kiss me for real for our performance,” Sungyeol explained as briefly as possible.
“What?” Dongwoo exclaimed and clamped his mouth shut with his hands, only to remove them and ask Hoya, “As in kiss him on the lips? In front of the Inspirits?”
Hoya merely nodded as Sungyeol went on, “And Myungsoo didn’t approve.”
“Oh, my god! Why didn’t he?!" Woohyun asked sardonically, looking so shocked with his hand covering his mouth. “What do you expect, stupid.”
“But I told him that it’s nothing because it’s nothing. And yes it’s a gift for Sungjong, but not the kiss itself. It’s the fact that when he did that, he can have the manly image he always wanted.”
“Isn’t it kinda twisted and ironic that the way Sungjong will achieve his manly image is by kissing another man?” Dongwoo chortled to himself.
“But a kiss is still a kiss, Sungyeol,” Hoya commented as he took a drink, and tap Sungyeol’s shoulder. “You should think about L’s feelings.”
“Hyung,” Sungjong called Sungyeol and looked at him with very concerned eyes. “Maybe we should just not do the kiss… or this.”
“No,” Sungyeol determinedly said, “this will be a very professional performance, nothing else.”
“And here goes the stubborn owl,” Woohyun teased again. “Or should I say giraffe? Your boyfriend said you look like one.”
“Yeah, farting machine,” Sungyeol snapped dryly.

The seven were having their dinner after practicing for almost fourteen hours.
Myungsoo, who usually sit beside Sungyeol, sat beside his Hoya hyung.
“Have you two talked already?” Hoya asked him quietly. Myungsoo just shook his head.
“Well, you should.”
“I don’t know,” Myungsoo replied just as quietly.
“Sungyeol hyung, are you okay?” Sungjong asked, fully aware of the awkward aura in the dining table.
“Yeah,” Sungyeol deadpanned, all the while looking at L.
“Liar,” Woohyun whispered to him.
“Should I talk to L hyung?” Sungjong suggested. “I should, right?”
“No, don’t bother. We can fix this.”
“Okay, hyung,” answered Sungjong feebly.
“Kids, the concert will be in a few weeks,” Sunggyu announced as if his members could forget, "so, we should really work our asses off.”
“Yes, hyung,” the six answered in sync.
“And for those who are having misunderstandings,” he added, “better fix it now.”
Sungyeol continued to look at L, and L went on ignoring him.
“You mean that jealous kitty and this stubborn owl?” asked Woohyun.
“For once, Woohyun," irritated Sungyeol whispered, “shut up.” He walked to their room and banged the door behind him because he had enough of annoying Woohyun and cold L; he couldn’t take so much in one day.
“Did that middle-schooler just tell me to shut up?” Woohyun, unable to believe what he heard, asked Sunggyu who was sitting beside him.
“I think so.”
“I can’t believe him!” exclaimed Woohyun incredulously.
“You do need to shut up sometimes,” Sunggyu advised him casually.
“You too?” Sunggyu didn’t bother to answer, so Woohyun looked at the other members who just nodded, except for L who was too busy staring at the door that Sungyeol just slammed shut.

Few weeks had passed, and the two were still not okay. This was not surprising for the fact that they're both waiting for each other’s apology.
“Don’t you miss him, hyung?” Sungjong asked his Sungyeol hyung during one of their breaks from practice.
“I see him every day,” Sungyeol said without really answering the question. Inside, he’s dying because he missed Myungsoo so much. Seeing the person you love every single day but you couldn’t touch or even talk to him because he’s being an ass makes you miss him, and the worst part was you know he’s being like that because of what you did.
“But hyung-“
“Jongie, you know that Sungyeol is a big, belly-fat liar,” Woohyun chided. “If I know, he’s crying himself to sleep every night.”
Sungyeol glared a hole at Woohyun but didn’t deny anything and just said derisively, “You’re helping a lot.”
Woohyun sighed and placed a hand on Sungyeol’s shoulder. “But seriously, Sungyeol. You two should kiss and make up. Not for the concert, or because Sunggyu hyung said so, but for both of you. You’re just wasting precious time by ignoring each other. I don’t like seeing you guys like this. We get tired and stressed because of all our rehearsals and the pressure and all that; wouldn’t it be nice if after all the hard work, you can sleep soundly at night beside someone special?”
Sungyeol was touched from his hyung's words, throw in the fact that these were the most helping words that Woohyun said ever since Day One.
“Even though I’ve always wanted to beat you two from being the most popular couple in Infinite with Sunggyu, I still want you guys to make up,” Woohyun added and laughed himself senseless.
“Woohyun! You just-ugh!" Sunggyu, who entered the practice room unbeknownst to the three members, was speechless to Woohyun’s nerve.
Woohyun, still laughing, walked towards him and clung to his arm. “I know. I love you, too.”
The eldest just ignored him and looked at Sungyeol. “What this tree said was right.”
“See. I told you,” Woohyun said smugly.
“Just the first part, though,” Sunggyu clarified. “We’re very concerned for both of you. And obviously, this isn’t healthy for you and Myungsoo. I mean, look at you; your eyes look so sunken. Have you slept properly these past nights, if you’ve slept at all? And god knows how Myungsoo has been behaving lately; it’s like someone turned him into an old crabby hermit and snaps at everyone who talks to him.”
He honestly didn't know what to do; he wanted his Mingsoo back, but for some reason he couldn't apologize although he knew that he was the one at fault. Damn a man’s pride.
He missed his Mingsoo so much it hurt like hell already.
That night, Dongwoo fell asleep at Hoya and Sungjong's room and no one could wake him up, so everyone decided to just let him sleep there since the room could accommodate three people anyway.
That left Sungyeol and Myungsoo alone in their room.
The awkward silence was more than unbearably awkward. The sound of the wind sounded louder than the sound they were letting out.
Sungyeol felt like blowing up; usually, there were Dongwoo’s snores to cover the discomfort between him and Myungsoo and he could pretend that Myungsoo was just tired so he wasn’t talking. But there were no snores right now. Nothing to let Sungyeol pretend everything was fine and normal.
He curled up under his blanket, trying to make himself as small as possible. This didn’t send him to dreamland so he buried his head under his pillow instead, willing himself to just suffocate.
Idiot, he scolded himself. He finally decided to seek comfort in their fancafe and read their fans’ messages.
“Oppa~ You don’t look happy these past few days.”
“Wae oppa? Are you tired from all of your practices?”
“You should get some rest oppa!!”
Sunggyu hyung was right, and apparently he wasn’t the only one who noticed, Sungyeol thought to himself.
“Oppa is okay, darling~ You don't have to worry. ^^” he typed in, although he wanted to whine to all their fans and tell them that his boyfriend was giving him hell for wanting to give the Inspirits a good performance.
“It’s late, Sungyeol,” Myungsoo suddenly nagged from the top bunk. “Your laptop’s light’s irritating me.”
Sungyeol’s heartbeat stopped for a second. This was the first time Myungsoo talked to him since their fight.
“I’ll just finish this,” he stammered.
“Say your goodbye immediately. I want some sleep,” said the Ice Prince.
Wait. This was how Myungsoo would treat him after weeks of cold shoulders? Suddenly, Sungyeol felt like giving L a piece of his mind.
“YA, KIM MYUNGSOO!” he abruptly shouted, having enough of everything. He closed his laptop without even saying goodbye to his fans and turned on the lights. “Tell me, how long are we going to be like this?!”
Myungsoo sat up and looked at Sungyeol. “I don't know. Blame your stupid plan!”
“I didn’t plan anything!”
“And the kiss? What? It just suddenly popped into your head and decided to do it while forgetting about your boyfriend?”
“I told you, it's nothing. It will never be anything!”
Myungsoo practically jumped from the top bunk and went on to stand in front of his taller boyfriend. “For Christ’s sake, Sungyeol! Since when would a kiss be nothing? And you’re gonna do it in front of everyone!”
“We’re idols! And idols do what they think their fans will like!”
“Fans! Always the fans! How about me, huh?”
“Myungsoo, you know that-“
“What? We should separate our personal lives from work? God knows I’ve been doing that for years. But this is too much! Why did you have to think that a kiss with Sungjong would please the fans? We’ve been together for years but we couldn’t even tell them that and now you would just kiss Sungjong in front of them!”
“Myungsoo, please… just stop.”
“Stop? Right. Let’s just stop this whole thing.”
“What? No! You can’t give up!”
“Sungyeol…”
“Then, I won’t do that kiss anymore! What else do you want? Should I cancel this whole performance, too? Fine! If that would be the only way for us to make up. I’ll talk to our managers first thing tomorrow.” Sungyeol started to tear up. “Fuck. We can’t be like this anymore. I want you. I need you. You have no idea how hard it is to stay away from you. How hard it is to be just a few inches away from you but I couldn't fucking touch you! It’s difficult to make others believe that I’m okay- I even mastered lying to myself! I know it’s my-”
Myungsoo cut his boyfriend’s speech by pulling him in for a heated kiss. He missed Sungyeol so much he could go on kissing him till sunrise, and the other obviously missed him as much because he seemed more than willing to respond to his lips. L felt something wet on his cheeks and realized that Sungyeol was crying; he released Sungyeol’s lips and hugged him tightly instead.
“Shh. Don’t cry,” he cooed on the taller man’s ear. “I know how you’re feeling. Believe me, I feel worse. I waited for you to say you’re sorry, and I wanted you to, so bad. I was resolved that I wouldn’t apologize even though I was starting to think I was waiting in vain; I was afraid that I might give up from being tough again and you wouldn’t get your lesson because honestly you are the most stubborn person I know,” L smiled, wiped Sungyeol’s tears and gave him a short but loving, sweet peck on the lips. “You are my weakness, Yeollie.”
“I’m sorry,” Sungyeol apologized while sobbing, tears continuing to fall. “I’m so sorry.”
“Shh… Stop crying. I’m sorry, too.”
Sungyeol pulled away to wipe his own tears with his whole arm and looked at his lover's eyes. “I missed you; I thought I’d go crazy.” And he frowned.
Myungsoo chuckled, finding his boyfriend really cute. “I know.” He pulled him in again and led him to the bed…
And that night became special.

Finally, Infinite’s first major concert came. The sold out-dols did a great job from their intro to their third song and Inspirits couldn't stop from screaming their lungs out the entire time. Frenzy and excitement were pulsing everywhere.
And here comes, Sungyeol and Sungjong's Trouble Maker.
After that night, Myungsoo agreed to the planned performance. He was mostly confident that his boyfriend would never feel anything special towards that performance, and he was pretty sure that a smack from their maknae would never be better than the kisses they had and would have.
But of course, he wasn’t Myungsoo if he wasn’t jealous. It’s not about Sungjong, though. He was just resentful that his guy would sexy dance with someone not named Kim Myungsoo. And for this, he made sure that no matter how tired they were from their practices, he wouldn’t miss a single night, even a single night, to remind Sungyeol that his touches would always be the best.
After their third song, both Sungyeol and Sungjong came rushing to prepare for their special stage. Sungjong finished almost immediately, and his hyungs found him really handsome and manly with his clothes. Myungsoo especially approached to compliment him and wished him good luck. He really was very proud to see their youngest looking all grown up like this.
Three minutes had passed and still no Sungyeol appeared. The six were beginning to worry whether he would ever finish changing when their manager announced that he would drag him outside the changing room right then, ready or not. Apparently, the choding had thrown the coordi noona outside the room because of nerves.
Myungsoo volunteered to check on him since he was starting to fidget, too.
“Sungyeol, you’re about to perform in a minute! What’s taking you so long?” Myungsoo yelled after knocking loudly on the changing room’s door.
“Almost… there!” Sungyeol yelled back, but the sound was muffled like there was fabric covering his mouth, and the closed door didn’t help either. “My goodness! Nobody told me this dress would be this fitted!” he whined perfectly. Maybe he finally slid the dress to his body and got it past his head.
“Hurry up, Sungyeol! You don't want to-“ And Sungyeol didn’t get to hear what he didn’t want because when he opened the door and came face to face with L, the other was just dumbstruck and his ability to speak seemed to flutter away.
His lovely Sungyeol-no, YeolNa-in a pretty red dress with a long wavy wig and a cat ears. Oh, he never considered his Sungyeol would look as hot and gorgeous like this, almost, almost beating the real thing.
Sungyeol, who was still too busy wriggling inside his red sequined dress to notice anything else, groaned to L, “This dress is so…” he turned his back on L and continued, “Can you help me…”
He looked at Myungsoo and noticed his expression. “Dude, you okay?”
Myungsoo stammered that yes he was okay although he was dazzled and he was feeling all kinds of so much love and fondness for Sungyeol right now that he forgot they were in the middle of their concert. Sungyeol didn’t understand a thing.
“Sungyeol, get ready!” their manager hollered from the hallway.
“I gotta go! Watch me, okay?” He gave Myungsoo one quick kiss on the lips before he ran towards the stage.
Shocked… no, dazed, Myungsoo couldn’t think of anything else besides Is that my boyfriend? He went to join the other members and watched YeolJong give all their best and show their Inspirits what they prepared for them.
Instead of jealousy, Myungsoo felt really proud of Sungyeol for owning that stage, for showing everyone that he has what it takes to be an idol and be more than that. He was proud of Sungyeol and he wanted to tell everyone that that guy in that red fitted dress was his guy.

Their concert was a success and tears of extreme happiness and gratitude were shed. Everyone was very thankful for all the fans that supported them and brought them here, now. They knew that they were supposed to be happy and celebrating, but they couldn’t help but remember every hardship and pain they had gone through to pursue their current state. Blessed, they were blessed.
After a very invigorated and well-earned congratulatory party for Infinite’s concert, Infinite went home and contentedly plopped down on their respective beds and didn't have any plan to get up for the next coming weeks. Except for Myungsoo, who was lying beside Sungyeol, their noses touching.
“Yeollie,” he crooned to the tallest member, his lips slightly grazing the other’s as he spoke.
“Hmm?”
“Are you tired?” he asked while stroking Sungyeol’s hair.
“Yeah... You?” He was tired, so tired and sleepy that he could barely will himself to form coherent words.
“I’m tired, too. But I don’t want to end this day like this.”
“Hmm?”
“Dongwoo hyung fell asleep on the other room again.” This time, he captured Sungyeol’s lips fully, not just teased it as he talked and laughed a little.
“Mingsoo… I know it already,” Sungyeol slurred before he kissed him back and opened his eyes. “You should…“ Yawn. “stop asking him to sleep there.”
Myungsoo giggled, not one bit ashamed for being caught. “But he also likes it there; he likes having sleepovers with Hoya hyung.”
“Hmm.” Sungyeol was back to trying to sleep.
“Yeollie,” L tried again.
“Hmm?”
Myungsoo got up, trudged to where his bag was, brought out a red dress, a long wavy wig, and a pair of cat ears, and threw them on his zombie boyfriend’s bed.
Sungyeol’s attention was suddenly intact when he recognized L’s items. “Are these my...?” He looked at Myungsoo who nodded. “Do you want me to...?” He nodded again.
“You really are my trouble maker," he said seductively and licked his lips. “And I shall punish you really, really hard.”
