so the vacation blew chunks...
we left on wed right? well we had the car all loaded up and i made breakfast and then we set off for a 6 hour drive to blanchard springs caverns. except we never made it there. adam decided that it would be too long a drive and we should go to our camping spot we picked out in mt nebo and then go to the caverns another day then drive back to the campsite. im fine with that because i am driving and mt nebo is halfway in between the two. so we find mount nebo and start the snakey drive up the mountain and it pretty and the view is great and so we go to the office and ask how to get to the campsites. we new from the website that we would have to hike in to the site but we had no idea how far. well turns out the hike was about 20 minutes from the car and it was not an easy hike. especially for this outta shape fatty. also we really didnt like that we couldnt even hear the car if someone decided to break into it or steal it or something. so even though it was pretty we decided not to stay there. also it was 90 some odd degrees outside and hotter than any known crotch in this universe.
adam thinks maybe we should just head back to OK and camp somewhere there but this whole thing is for his birthday and i wanted it to be good. i suggest we got back the way we came to a lake we past not too long ago and he agrees. we get there and there are hardly any campsites and they are literally on top of each other. adam has a skeptical look on his face and we also noticed a nuclear power plant on the opposite side of the lake (weird right?). i convince him that i want to at least swim because im sweating my butt off. and he agrees. we get to this small area thats just for swimming and we notice a dead fish that washed up on the shore and there is a thick line of green slime in the beach from the tide and the water was super slimy. i only stuck my toe in before adam noticed the dead fish and we got the hell out of there. shouldve checked to see if the fish had 3 eyes.
so we were hungry and stopped at a mcdonalds and had some hamburgers because they make the pain go away. (i got a free coke glass too) then we made our way back to oklahoma. and decided to camp where we did last year at lake tenkiller. the camping spot we like was all over grown with grass and weeds so we went to another spot closer to the lake. we sat up our chairs and then figured we needed to go get some firewood for a fire. so eat and keep the bugs away. the main office was closed already so we were stuck without a fire. and it was still hot and we were sweaty, sticky and miserable. we set up this mosquito tent thingy and i started to unload the car. adam and i unanimously decided that we didnt want to spend the rest of our vacation sweaty, sticky and miserable, so we decided to go home.
we are such losers! oh well we ate at sonic came home and took showers and past out. then we spent the rest of the week doing absolutely NOTHING. we did go see indiana jones though. it was kind of nice and i do love air conditioning.
we both went back to work on monday and now we are lounging some more. all we did for the 4th is walk the dogs and watch some fireworks in the distance on our walk. actually yesterday we cleaned up his music room. we put all the music stuff on one wall and today we are going to hang all the guitars on another.
thats all i got cause that plenty.
