Day 2:
Woke up at a relatively decent hour. I think my body is naturally just set on west coast time. Walked down to the art museum to see the R Crumb exhibit. It was the original pages of his new book which is an illustrated Book of Genesis. It was pretty neat and it had lots of R Crumb big butt women in it. Walked down to a vegan bbq food cart called home grown. I got a chili dog with sweet potato fries and mint iced tea. Lacey got a bbq sandwich with macaroni & cheese and mint lemonade.
The son of the guy that owned the cart commented on my Hatred Surge shirt and said it was "mysterious guy hardcore" whatever that means. The food was unbelievable and super messy which I love. Lacey got a smoothie. We rode down to the science museum which resulted in us getting off a bus on the middle of the bridge. That was pretty weird but we figured it out. The science museum is super big and really cool. It had an Einstein exhibit which was interesting.
They also had a bunch of dead babies showing the human grown cycle. We did some brain teasers that were very humbling and Lacey bought a shirt that says "Science Geek." After that we took the bus to the other side of town to go to a shoe store called Pie. Lacey keeps pronouncing it like the food, but I think it's pronounced like the Spanish word for foot. We didn't ask but I guess we should have. I bought some real expensive shoes but they are for work so I guess that's ok. We ate at Vita which was really good but I felt horrible afterward because I had eaten too much too soon. Lacey had a veggie burger and I had a T(tempeh)LT
and a disgustingly huge pile of fries. We walked around and saw a place with vegan soft serve but I think we're gonna have to hit that up another day because we were too full. Got on the bus and went back to the hotel and tried to breathe for a while. Went back out again to go to a record store which was OK.
Went to Voodoo again and ate a donut. We watched Funny People and went to sleep sometime after that.
The weather is pretty much perfect right now and our hotel smells like trash in the lobby. I guess I'm just gonna be one day behind...
