old local music

i was talking to rick a while ago and we were talking about 10% effort and about how i'm probably the only person that has a copy of their cd left. well i was digging through stuff and it turns out my copy of the cd is totally unlistenable! lame!

so i'm cataloging local music from when i first got into punk rock to now. when i say local i mean dallas/fort worth/denton area. and i mean like the last 10 years of music. i'm starting with stuff i have that other people might not have. stuff like the damitols, steve steve, springfield u, skunky beaumont, wuornos, ricin etc. then i'll move up to more current/popular bands like garuda, kid chaos, potential johns, etc.

i don't want any of this music to get lost because it's all so fucking great. i might start a podcast and virtual library eventually.

so anyone that has any old cds/tapes/7-inches let me know because i want to store them all on my computer. also if you want copies of stuff let me know too. this will be an ongoing project that might not ever end so i'm way excited!

obviously i'll be more excited if you have stuff from the scene i was in when i starting going to shows. this was mostly the ft. worth ridglea theater/mad ivan's DIY shows type scene. there were a few denton and dallas bands that were included in this also. but anything you might have that you want me to catalog let me know.

i might forget to check this so feel free to email me at al [at] 1919hemphill [dot] org
