What a week!
New Orleans was crazy! So cool! My feet were sore for a while after we left from walking all over the place. But it was so worth it! I definitely want to go back sometime, just to see more of it. The culture, the food, the music! I can't believe I went to the House of Blues to see a band! I got a t-shirt while I was there, too. I think that's gonna be my most prized possession after my guitar.
The aquarium was awesome too, and I saw an IMAX 3D movie there. I had to actually flinch when the shark got up close, then flicked its tail in my face. And the flying shot over the ocean... made me dizzy. ^^; I had to close my eyes a minute to stop the vertigo.
The French Market was great, but what was even better was finding this small place called "The Red Dragon" after I got lost. Turns out it's a small bar-like place where they read poetry (and don't I.D. people, but I didn't want to drink anyway). I wish my English was better, I'm sure I'd have enjoyed the readings more if I'd understood them better, but the atmosphere was interesting.
I'm glad to be home, though. Being there showed me just how much I still have to work on learning English. But I had fun, and I got plenty of souvenirs for everyone! ^_^ The only downside to this week has been trying to pick out my replacement. Seems I'm retiring on Monday to concentrate on entrance exams, so I had to submit the paperwork to make Kurosaki the next buchou at SeiRu Middle. Kaidoh-kun, I know you'll do good under him and make me proud. ^^ Aim for Nationals again!
