'death' ill-expressed & w/ made-up jargon

Person dies, child cries... or doesn't

Those that do... if they "understand" (really what "we" think of as understanding death, can we really say that we even do, being alive, adult/mature/wise or not?), in the sense of a loss to them... this is a sad thing. To all. Yes.

But for the others, those that do not understand that particular meaning, perhaps not all will cry. Those that perhaps do understand, differently. Death as mercy, benevolence, passing on to a better place. Achieving Nirvana? Or simply inconsequence? Either way, not something to distress over, or at least selfish to view it in relation to loss only. Forgetting self as observer and not active participant (the deceased). There can be confusion over outward expressions of loss and despair (don't take despair so harshly, that is an argument unto itself: surface meaning of sadness and grief) by others contrasting with the more positive aspects felt by the self. In this case, disconnect with personal feelings from society's misconstruals/misportrayals.

Then: cry anyway, feel a loss almost identical to that of feeling stemming from death as loss. Death of soul, while the body remains living. Also akin to ostracization/unbelonging.

Or simply cry from confusion. Social learning and mass hysteria.

Also, possible: shock from unexpected accident, bodily relief of stress from shock as tears ("grief")

[argument fails to examine other equally important aspects for sake of brevity. Notably missing is that of compassion for others, what a specific "loss" might mean to loved ones, again involving the more self-relevant aspects of the death on the observers]

I don't know why I used children for this, it applies to everyone really. And it can go farther than just death too... imagine being so confused by motives for anything that presents itself as a societal norm.

Either way it makes you feel like shit.
