hooray Christmas! i hope everyone had a good one. i guess it wasn't really that exciting, but i enjoyed it nonetheless. my parents did surprise me after all by getting me a zune. that was nice because everything else, i bought for myself. and by everything else i mean a couple of DVDs and books. i didn't really need a zune, since i already have an ipod. but my parents heard me mention the zune after it was all over the CMJ festival in NYC. I don't think they understood what it was. now that i have it, i must say that i like it more than ipods. it has a bigger screen and the scroll mechanism is SOOOO much easier to manipulate. i feel silly having one, since it seems excessive to have both an ipod and a zune, but i don't have the heart to tell my parents. my dad was very proud that he found me a "cool" gift. so i have decided that ipod = music, zune = movies (because it has a bigger screen). which prompted me to figure out how to rip movies. and, so far, it has been the most exciting discovery of the holiday season for me. i don't think it's illegal if i already own the movie being ripped. i used little miss sunshine as my test subject and IT WORKED!! i have little miss sunshine on my zune! the possibilities are endless. bored at work? pull out my super-stealthy headphones and watch movies! so far i've ripped little miss sunshine, brick and the royal tenenbaums...but hopefully i can figure out how to do subtitles since a lot of my movies are foreign.
our dog pippin has really bad arthritis...it's just painful to watch her walk around. she whimpers all the time and just camps out in front of the fire. that part is kind of cute, though, when she scoots over to the fireplace. i think she's doing a little bit better now that she's on medicine.
i need to find an internship.
