Top Ten Tips to Screw the RIAA

Ten top tips to make sure the RIAA doesn't succeed:

1) Do NOT fear them. There's hundreds of millions downloading, and only hundreds of the stupidest fish get caught.

2) Support Local and Independent (indie) bands.

3) Go to concerts, buy the merch, and don't be afraid to pay a little extra. The experience is priceless, and the money goes straight to the band.

4) Watch out for DRM, Janus and Protected MP3's. These files are incompatability at the least and will begin to degrade your computer's performance in worse scenarios.

5) Get a Firewall.

6) Use protective software to keep the virus-infected and fake MP3's (made by the Recording Industry) at bay. For a list, look at tools at this link (http://filesharingplace.com/downloads/kazaa_lite_resurrection.php)

7) Support your favorite bands by requesting them on the Radio. When there's more authentic music on the radio, there's less recyled crap.

8) Join your favorite band's street team. By supporting them, you can recieve free merch, and feel good about your self.

9) Get an MP3 Player from Creative, especially those without support for Microsoft's two-faced Janus copyright protection. The newer players, such as the Zen Neeon, are perfect. (http://www.creative.com/products/mp3/zenneeon/)

10) Tell your friends.
