I don't know how many people know by now but, The Crocodile Hunter died... BY A FRIGGIN STING RAY!!! Are they friggin serious?! Here's a guy who cheated death every day snuggling and wrestling with the MOST dangerous animals in the world and gets taken out by a sting ray?! Apparently Steve Irwin was at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state (Austrailia), shooting a segment for a series called "Ocean's Deadliest". He was swimming over a sting ray and it pierced his heart with the barb on the end of it's tail... Now, normaly the sting rays barb is poisonous but only poisonous enough to kill a human if not treated but that didn't matter in good ol' Steves situation, the beaut' went straight for the heart. Shaun Collin a marine neuroscientist from queensland university said, "Stingrays have a serrated, toxin-loaded barb, or spine, on the top of their tail. The barb, which can be up to 10 inches long, flexes if a ray is frightened. Stings usually occur to people when they step on or swim too close to a ray and can be excruciatingly painful but are rarely fatal. Once again RARELY FATAL... wow... Thats kinda like a race car driver getting t-boned at an intersection and getting killed. So in so few words (and probably Steve Irwins' last)
CRIKEY!!!
