Amazing Grace, Unending Love
This is pretty much just copied and pasted from my myspace blog. I wrote it the moment it entered my mind, and I was on myspace when it did. So...yeah....
God's love, mercy, and grace for me continues to amaze me. There are certain things in life we expect, and we are angry/bitter/depressed etc. when we don't get them. But with God's gift of salvation, we are able to say to Him, "I give this to You God, I realize I don't deserve it and may never have it, and am fine with that." I did that with a certain situation. But when recent circumstances led me to think that God was going to give me this blessing, I got prideful. The world was in my hands because, hey look- things are coming together for me! That's when subconsciensely we are saying "Psh, God? Nah." We don't realize it, but we are. I did. And when the circumstances seemed to start going a way I didn't want them to, it crushed me. Because I pushed God out of the picture for those few brief moments, hours, days, whatever it may be, I said I didn't need Him and so I momentarily disregarged His love and comfort He can and will give me. Low point. This is when you don't know what to do, and all you can do is turn to God and allow Him to wrap His tender arms around you. This is what happened - to me - about 10 minutes ago. I listened to the song "Amazing Grace [my chains are gone]" by Chris Tomlin, on my myspace page, and I let the walls of pride down, instantly He came to my rescue and His arms were around me. I cried, I don't deserve Him, His love for me, how He takes my burdens away. But He still is here, loves me, takes my burdens, calls me His own. He is my knight in shining armor that cannot and never will be defeated.
