Gelato in the rain
We-el. Loads musta happened in that long gap, but it's just been a little too long to update now :) I watched Hatari and fell in love with Dallas and her elephants, and watched George of the Jungle before that and fell in love with Brendan Fraser all over again (what is it with chicks and horses indeedy :)! )
Bu-uut anyway. Right now am trying to make some kinda frozen desert thingie out of milk and what fruit is available at home. I tried something out with just plain milk, sugar and water yesterday.. that is, I put it in to freeze yesterday, but had time to make anything out of it only this evening, and it's yum so far :)
As of now am vaguely following this recipe, substituting crème fraîche with its make-in-two-minutes alternative (teaspoon of vinegar in milk) and seeing what happens.
Fruit at home - jackfruit and mango. Mom and I like jackfruit, all of us like mango. May try making a Tang Sorbet later if I figure out how to crush the ice effectively.. I read somewhere you got to keep stirring the slushy half-frozen ice every 20 minutes.
