Performance

Have been watching this movie, Performance:

Surprising it was paid for by Warner Bros. because this movie is pretty racy. It was made at the end of the 60's and it's half 60's culture flick/half british gangster movie. James Fox plays Chas a mob king/boxer/womanizer who somehow finds refuge in a strange house when he begins to rent the basement. Mick Jagger, Anita Pallenberg, and Michelle Breton live, sleep, take drugs, and of course have sex with one another in the room upstairs. The room and furniture in their bedroom was probably my favorite thing about this movie:

(the only screen shots I can find, only have Jagger in them!)
The reason I watched this movie was because I really really liked another movie by this director, called "Bad Timing". Unfortunately, this move was a bit harder for me to follow. Even though I watched it while I was at work, and so therefore had full concentration, and I even tried to watch it again I was so bored...but a lot of the cultural references were lost on me. I did get completely interested in Anita Pallenberg and her style...but watching the special features I realized there were a lot of nods to literary figures (Borges....some others) and a lot of art/paintings used in the background they were all lost on me I'm sorry to admit! Still an interesting movie with lots of naked booties in it, my favorite.
